This is not good for us. It sounds like Houston either fired or let Alex Gibbs go and Seattle picked him up. :(
Another person wrote that a former Bronco fan mentioned M.Shanahan fired A.Gibbs son while in Denver and Gibbs has not talked to M.Shanahan since.
Alex Gibbs leaves Houston and goes to......Seattle?!? - EXTREMESKINS.com (http://www.extremeskins.com/showthread.php?t=315346)

well that sucks
NFL.com Blogs » Blog Archive Bengals retain defensive coordinator Zimmer « (http://blogs.nfl.com/2010/01/12/bengals-retain-defensive-coordinator-zimmer/)
Not really. While I was innitialy intrigued by Zimmer, the more I read about his track record the more unimpressed I was. He had one great year in Dallas and that's pretty much it. There are much better options out there.
Romeo Crennel is by far the best choice in my opinion, but I don't think we're interested.
Haslett's a possibility , but I think we end up promoting Jerry Gray. At this point, it appears to be the lesser of two evils that Shanahan seems to be considering and one I would begrudgingly accept.

Some more bad news or good I don't know....
JLC [Twitter]: Zimmer re-signs with Bengals, Haslett will be new DC? - EXTREMESKINS.com (http://www.extremeskins.com/showthread.php?t=315349)
Apparently Zimmer resigned with Cinci. Maybe it's Haslett's time. 3-4 here we come.

For those of you who want Haslett, consider this:
Redskins Insider - Your daily source for news and commentary on the Washington Redskins, by Jason Reid (http://blog.washingtonpost.com/redskinsinsider/)
As for Haslett, his most recent NFL defenses haven't been ranked particularly high, but few in NFL circles are going to question Haslett's defensive expertise. As interim coach in St. Louis in 2008, the Rams finished ranked 28th overall. In his six years in New Orleans, the Saints' defenses were ranked eighth, 16th, 27th, 18th, 32nd and 14th.
That's an average position of 19th. Why on earth would we want that?

Yeah I went looking at both Zimmer and Haslett's record and was not impressed with them either. If I was Shanahan I'd push fast and hard for Romeo Crennell. Although it sounds like it's almost a done deal in KC. I think he's trying to get back with coach's he worked with in New England in hopes the chemistry is right.
Who else is out there? I keep hearing about coach's that might get the axe that we might be able to use. People have said Wade Phillips, Jack Del Rio, but who is out there that is not coaching? I'll take them if they are 70yrs old. Unless we go after someone like a Gray (whome I'd rather just get away from) who is an Asst. to a DC.

Apparently DeWayne Walker might be joining Carroll in Seattle as well. Interesting on Zimmer, I thought he would be considered for a head coaching job somewhere. But the options are limited.
I guess Slowik is still a possibility for D-Coordinator, and Jeff Jagodzinski for OL

Ironically Gray seems like the best option right now. Which begs the question, how similar were the defenses under Williams and Blache?

So Zimmer is staying in Cincinnati...

I wouldn't mind us shocking everyone and going with Kirk Olivadotti...he doesn't really have the credentials though.

I bet in the end it ends up being Slowik at this point.
