Who would you like to see as the Defensive Coordinator in Washington next season? I know we touched on this in other threads, but I feel now that Shanahan is official the discussion can start about his staff and the defense in particular.
I really hope it is not Bob Slowick. He was absolutely terrible in Denver as the DC. Mike Zimmer is a name that is rumored to be in the mix. I also would throw in Jerry Gray, although many see his interview for the head coaching job a direct stab in the back to Zorn, the case can be made for Jerry. As DC for Buffalo he had the number 2 ranked defense 2 years in a row.

Another name I've mentioned is Rob Ryan, although he is currently in Cleveland, that staff may be let go and I think his tutelage under Bellicheck and his father buddy Ryan bring a lot to the table.

Don't worry about creating another thread man; seeing specific topics is good, I hate seeing people say "Oh we're discussing our future defense in the future speculation of Shanahan arriving thread" or whatever, what does that offer to someone first checking out the board with a specific idea on something?

As far as the topic, Zimmer would be nice; I really don't see him keeping who we already have, though I wouldn't mind if Gray and/or Oliv stayed on board, the latter having stayed throughout the past few coaches.

I think Mike Zimmer will happen (the Bengals won't pay him what Danny will), and I wouldn't mind him bringing in his son Adam from the Saints to coach LBs work as maybe asst DC.

What I've heard is that Zimmer is a near certainty.

Dick Jauron is free, though.

Zimmer? Please we have Slowik?

I kind of feel bad for saying this but I'm hoping the Bengals get knocked out of the playoffs early so we can get this under way. Though I wouldn't mind see Ochocinco with a a chance to hold up the Super Bowl trophy though. Guy is easily one of my favorite players.

Gray or Zimmer would be fine by me. I'm just happy it won't be Blache. Gray is more familiar with the personell and did a fine job in Buffalo.

I wonder who's defense uses to players strength rather than just following the system. Blanche seemed to force square pegs in round holes.

Thanks for the support tryfuhl somtimes I like to make a premptive comment to stop people from saying that

^ LOL. I think I'd take Zimmer's "D" over Blache's any day of the week Dirtbag!

Nazi Stormtroopers are not politically correct, but yeah I think I like Zimmer too. I'm not too happy with Gray or Blache.
