Zimmer would be foolish to leave Cincy right now.
If I were him, I'd use the Skins as leverage to get a great extension in Cincy.
Remember, Zimmer just lost his wife, his girls need stability...his team is in the playoffs, the Skins are crappy right now...I'd take a lot less money to stay stable in his situation.
If he was to move right now..it would be for a head coach role...but that is really bad timing for him since he is now Mom and Dad at home.
My suggestion....don't get your hopes up for Zimmer. I'd be shocked if he came here considering the circumstances.
So who does that leave....I hate to say it, but I think Haslett is probably the easiest to secure from outside...which would probably mean our defense will go backwards a bit...same deal if we gave it to Gray.
It makes me wonder if we should consider keeping (dare I say it...) Blache.
maybe...but if he needs stability and should spend more time with his kids then he should definitely not take a HC job. DC is no picnic but if he was HC he would never see his kids.

Maybe. But given the historical frugality of the Bengals, Snyder likely would win any bidding war. In fact, in such a situation we should all be grateful that we have Snyder on our side.

The way I like to think of Snyders recent turn around is like Happy Gilmore learning how to putt. Sure he's got the long drive but up until now he couldn't really putt. Now he has a complete game as an owner. Of course we'll have to wait and see to find out if this team is destined for a Super Bowl but we're certainly on the right track.

Zimmer is not impressing me with his defense the last two weeks. Today they can't even stop the Jets from running the ball. It's sad.

I agree except that I would like to see a demonstration of patience. I don't want to find out that Snyder is getting antsy early in 2011 or something. If we truly have the right FO combination going on, we need to be patient with it working.
There was the story about Snyder wanting to fire Zorn around the time of his 15th game, still in his first season. I do not think Zorn was the answer but I also do not think that Snyder was showing much patience.

Sad???? The jets have the #1 rushing offense in the NFL, they averaged 172 yards a game. Their offensive line is very good.

I can't say that I really have a preference for a D-coordinator. At this point, anyone but Blache. Definitely not Jerry Gray. I wouldn't mind seeing us switch to a 3-4.
I just want someone aggressive. Who's the next Rex Ryan on the horizon?

#1. We should use the Jets draft stratdegy from a couple of years ago. They drafted Mangold and Ferguson in the first round. I thought Mangold was in the beginning of the second, but I may be wrong.
#2. Zimmer's line in Cincy has No where near the talent we have. I tend to think our D unit has much better playmakers and Z can use them more effectively. Would most of you agree that we have more talent on the defensive side of the ball?

I would. You can only make so much out of what you've got. Did anyone see Ray Maualuga tonight?
