Brian Mitchell said it best. Snyder will no longer be handd on but that doesnt mean he wont be finger on. He'll always be involved.

That isnt such a bad thing.

Well I would think if you owned a Ferrari not only would you like to ride in it you'd like to drive it once and a while. So long as he's not making dumb mistakes (which is what I hope Allen and Shanahan are there for) then I'm good with him making suggestions about some players.

I just have a gut feeling Snyder isnt all that interested in making the decisions anymore and he feels he has a guy in Allen who he can trust to handle things. Like stated above though you cant expect him to be completely hands off.

I dont care who hires him him, if we have Shanny Jr. as OC, Zimmer as DC, and hopefully Bobby April coaching Special Teams, if its Snyder or not, what is there to complain about.

Try using more commas than that!

I'm hoping that Bobby April publicly took the Bills up on their offer so that he can move to Washington. Blind hope but still hope.

I truly believe Snyder hears the voice of the fan and is responding. Here is a direct quote after releasing Zorn.

Snyder addressed Zorn's firing in a written statement, released by the team's public relations staff.

"This has been an extremely difficult season for our organization and for the fans," the owner said. "Bruce Allen spent many hours examining the football operations, and we are both determined to do whatever it takes to build a championship team. That process begins today.

"No one in the organization is satisfied with our record over the last two years, and I am sure that Jim would concur with that statement. It has been painful for him too," Snyder's statement continued. "I certainly accept responsibility for mistakes that I have made. I am hopeful that our fans will accept my commitment and pledge to deliver a franchise that can compete in the NFC East every season."

Snyder accepts responsibility for the teams failure and is looking to right the ship. What more can we ask for as fans? We complained about the piss poor play calling and they brought in a consultant. We complained about the banning of signs on stadium property and that was lifted. We complained about lack of leadership and a dysfunctional organization and a true General Manager was hired. We complained about a head coach that lacked experience and the new General Manager is committed to bring in a head coach with winning experience. I like the direction. I'm looking forward to Shanahan's first press conference.
Good points, Hail. ABove all I think DS is a fan! I am sure it KILLS him to see his team circle the drain (as it does....us)? AND to add insult to injury, he's responsible for it, and is bearing the financial rath of the fans as a result...........I believe him

How do we know that Allen didn't say HE wanted Shanahan and that that was contingent upon him taking the GM job? See...it's all speculation. I've read a lot of folks saying that the organization should have "pursued other options" but aren't really specific about what those options are. Plus...MS isn't even the coach...yet.

At the risk of sounding like a dick, anyone who cannot recognize that Allen/Shanahan is the best thing that's happened to this franchise since '93 is a moron.

We've all been screaming for a 'football guy' which Allen clearly is. We clearly need a powerful, respected head coach, which Shanahan clearly is. Look, Snyder is going to be involved at some level. Get used to it or get over it. I'm choosing to believe that he's going to let Shanahallen do their thing and not micro-manage them.

If I'm proven wrong then blast me for being naive but the negative nellies who will find something wrong with everything the franchise does are really annoying.

Whoa Jack!!!!!!!!! Hold on there Buckaroo. Folks were having self induced orgasms when Gibbs came back as both HC and team Pres. Things didn't work out to well did they? A certain amount of skepticism is warranted after we have gone through 7 head coaches in 10 seasons. The Shanny hiring has the same pattern of Snyder getting the big name, the "sexy" pick, either coach or player to get the faithful to hang in there a few more seasons to get milked for every buck they are willing to give up. The Danny might have decided to add a new element to his old template and that is the hiring of the GM the Skins faithful have been pleading for for the past 10 years. Can the Shanny/Allen matchup be like Gibbs/Beathred? Sure!!!!! But it could also be a bust in the same right. The big question is, will the Danny keep his hands of personnel decisions form here on out? If yes, we might just have a winner. If not, it is just more of the same smoke and mirrors routine.

Despite the overall 30-34 record, Gibbs did get us in the playoffs twice with one playoff victory. I kind of wonder what would have happend if he would have stayed one more year. It was "his" team that started the season 6-2 under Zorn.

I do not care what you think about the man's second tenure. He is in the hall of fame and he is still the greatest coach that this team has ever seen. Tread lightly.

True, which shows that Gibbs was good enough to overcome much of the ineptitude of Snyder and the FO style (inherited FA's, too many coaches, complicated decision-making structure, Vinny...).

However, the point about being skeptical of Snyder's latest moves until proven otherwise is still valid. We all hope these are sincere changes that mean he's learned something and is stepping back. Don't forget, though, that the other teams in our division also have owners, GMs, draft picks, etc. Our mission is not just to stop being dysfunctional, but to be better than the Cowboys, Eagles and Giants. Does this look positive? YES. But keep your fly zipped for a season or two. S*** happens, and Danny needs to prove himself to me after 10 years of misery.

Smootsmack, it is good to be back. Just was into my own thing and stayed on the outside a bit. You would appreciate I got banned from ES twice. Probably could have been more but the boneheads over there are just to stupid. Get ready for some CRT3 fire as I am ready and waiting for some football. Hoping that Shanny will at least stay away from the 3-4 and go with an aggressive DC so that we can have some success. Defense wins championships, period......

Also look for the gold pants to return, as this is Bruce Allen who granted his 1st interview to Mike Lomarbdi, will there e be gold pants? Gotta love an Allen returning to DC.
