Yes. Because an inexperience rookie QB behind a bad offensive line is a bad combination. The Redskins need to worry about the foundation of this team. Campbell has actually played pretty decent when he's had time to throw the ball.

You think he played well the first 4 or 5 games of the season when he was one of the least sacked QBs in the league? Against the Chefs? That said, I do like how he played down the stretch, but I'm tired of everyone blaming the line for EVERYTHING. There are other issues. He hasn't been all that consistent when the line has been in tact and playing well.

how about Schroeder(sp?) to the raiders for Jim Lachey? and more recently, Cutler to the bears for a couple of very high picks( i forget exactly what picks they were, but i think a couple of first rounders) and buster, over the last portion of the season, you were one of Campbell's biggest supporters. are you still?

Yes.

Just because you tender someone at that level it doesn't mean you're going to get that in return. It's basically just a starting off point for the negotiations. I think it's pretty safe to say nobody is going to give up a 1st and a 3rd for JC.

Honestly, if we COULD get a first and third for him, I'd take it, even being a big supporter of JC's.

We could draft 2 first-round linemen (2 tackles!) and use the second-round pick on a QB not named Bradford or Tebow. Then, use our new third-rounder that we were previously missing on either another lineman, a RB or a LB.

That way we could bolster the line AND get a QB.

There are only 10 quarterbacks who week end and week out get the job done. The rest have warts and get flambéed by fans and the media like JC. Let’s stick with JC.........

Yes, I agree. And campbell's been very inconsistent. I don't like the idea of having a quarterback who plays inconsistent and has trust & confidence issues.

You're going to have to jog my memory Deezel, I can't remember that.

From the hint Bruce Allen dropped, I wouldn't be one bit surprised to see JC on our roster next year (from Boswell's article) (http://www.thewarpath.net/Since%20Campbell,%20playing%20behind%20an%20awful% 20line,%20finished%2015th%20in%20the%20NFL%20in%20 passer%20rating,%2014th%20in%20yards%20and%2018th% 20in%20touchdown%20passes,%20that%27s%20at%20least %20a%20semi-hug%20from%20the%20new%20GM.%20If%20Allen%20thinks %20Campbell%27s%20best%20football%20is%20ahead%20o f%20him%20and%20he%27s%20already%20rated%20in%20fr ont%20of%20half%20the%20starters%20in%20the%20NFL, %20how%20much%20better%20can%20you%20do?):

"He's got a lot of starts (51) and seen a lot of looks, and he hasn't played his best football yet."

Since Campbell, playing behind an awful line, finished 15th in the NFL in passer rating, 14th in yards and 18th in touchdown passes, that's at least a semi-hug from the new GM. If Allen thinks Campbell's best football is ahead of him and he's already rated in front of half the starters in the NFL, how much better can you do?

That doesn't sound like a GM who is ready to dump his QB.

Who cares if Campbell stays or not. The whole thing is still a 50/50 proposition that the new crew can turn it around.

GM, i really believe it will be Shanahan that makes the call on this. his opinion on how he can work with Campbell will go a long way

Especially now. Bring back JC. Just please give him an OL a #1 WR and a change of pace HB.
