One thing we do know is JC can take a beating & get back up.

^ Given the status of our O-line men.. I think we all should care.

Yes. He is the most physically talented QB we've had in my lifetime (1981-present). Can't wait to see what he can do behind a solid line. For him to be an average QB behind a nonexistent O-line without Portis or Cooley speaks to his talent. I also will never forget his performance through the first half of last season, which was nothing short of epic. EPIC!

Doesn't hurt that I'm also not enthralled with anybody coming in the draft or available through free agency.

Full disclosure: I've never watched Colt McCoy.

people have to realize that some of the sacks that jc takes are on him. sometimes he doesn't step up in the pocket, sometimes he holds the ball too long, doesn't see what the defense is doing to him fast enough. on a 3 step drop it's very simple, 1-2-3 and throw. And even on the quick short stuff he holds the ball. we've seen this over and over and over again. it's like the guy can't make any adjustments to his game. imo the first position that needs to be addressed is qb.

The first position that needs to be addressed is QB?

If by "addressed" you mean "better coached and added depth," then I agree.

The only positions that need to be addressed by improving "athletic ability of the starters" are all along the offensive line, KR/PR, and some of the WR slots. That's it. Even Landry is one hell of an athlete.

Campbell screwed up one time in the Dallas game in failing to adjust to a blitz, and he got called out on it by everybody. How many times had he been knocked down before that play??? I wouldn't have seen the safety cheating up, either, because I'd be blinking back all the tears.

Do not forget Campbell's first half of the 2008 season. He was good on a historical scale.

LOL How does that support anything? That's an article basically saying "IF" or "Could be". I'm tired of arguing about JC, he's a decent player but we all know Shanahan won't keep him. I'm not dogging you Pain but c'mon man!
Eh, I read it much more negatively than you did. If the coach who has just spent the past 2 years coaching him isn't ready to endorse him at this point, I don't know that anyone would.

In a capped year, I'd probably agree with you but don't be blindsided with disappointment when Shanny keeps him around because it's the right football decision in an uncapped year.

He was historically good by not throwing INT'S.... He didn't throw TD's either lol. Show me one QB that doesn't throw 10-14 int's every year and I will show you the same QB that doesn't throw many td's either. Jc never takes chances and thats why he wasn't regarded to be better than the likes of Orton (ASK DENVER) They turned JC down instead and that was confirmed by many reports not just PFT.

Despite all the criticism of Campbell he somehow manages to lead every positive poll that his name is mentioned in. There seems to be a rather strange sort of love hate relationship many fans have going on with him.

Again IDK how he leads this poll.. I mean what are you folks thinking? Jason is not our answer so why would we bring him back? He has had his chances, David Carr only had 4 years in Houston, Harrington the same in Detroit. Stats don't lie people 20-32 as a starter is terrible. Time to start over!

I think one thing that a lot of people are overlooking is does Jason Campbell want to come back here with the line and rb situation in such a mess? Lets say Jason Campbell's agent got a call from the Minnesota Vikings who happen to have one of the best running backs in the NFL and a solid offensive line and good WR's - if you are Campbell do you come back to the Skins who are going to need 2-3 years of rebuilding - especially with a new offensive line - or do you take the chance to go to the Vikings who will need to replace Brett at some point soon and your main competition to be the long term solution is Tavaris Jackson who I think Jason Campbell can beat out. I don't know about you but I would rather be playing behind an oline that has the likes of Steve Hutchinson versus Mike Williams.
