Wow..talk about being tough. I have been looking at the Skins schedule and you talk about 10 tough games up ahead. 5 of the next 10 games are against teams currently leading their division or having the potential of leading their division (Philly x2, Minnesota, Pittsburgh, and Detroit). Granted Detroit is behind Minnesota, but they definitely have a chance by the way they are playing. The remainder of the games are against .500 teams or worse, except for the Giants who are 4-2. Even though the Packers are a below .500 team, you can always expect them to play tough and make a run for the playoffs.

So realistically speaking, this is what the Skins would have to do to get into the playoffs..and this is the bare minimum.

We can all pretty much count on Philly winning the NFC East and I am picking the Falcons to win the NFC South (and I don't know why..LOL). That leaves St. Louis or Seattle winning the West and either Minnesota (who I am picking) or Detroit to win the North. Talk about being tough. With that said..that only leaves 2 wild cards left.

Now what the Skins have to do. The Skins will have to win against all of the .500 or below opponents. Meaning they will have to beat the Packers, Cowboys, Bengals, and 49er's. Ok..now for the above .500 teams. They MUST beat Detroit and the Giants without a doubt. Both of these 2 teams can potentially be a Wild Card Team. If they win all of the above mentions games, that will make them 8-4. Now what they must do is take one game from Philly (but both would be awesome). By winning one game against the Eagles will definitely give them an edge up on the Wild Card race. They must also win one game against either Pitt. or Minnesota. Or they will need to win both if they don't take one against the Eagles. I don't see a team making it into the playoffs from the NFC with less than 10 wins. There are too few good teams out there so I see only 6 teams out there getting 10 wins and those will make it to the playoffs.

Ok..in short here is my predictions right now:

NFC East- Philly
NFC West- St. Louis
NFC North- Minnesota
NFC South- Atlanta

Wild Card Rankings
1. Seattle
2. Detroit
3. Giants (this could definitely change)
4. Green Bay (they will drop when the Skins beat them next week)
5. New Orleans
6. Redskins
7. any other 2-4 team has a chance of turning it around.

Well that's enough said. Don't get me wrong..the Skins still have a chance to get into the playoffs and definitely be above .500. They will just have to step it up on Offense and the Defense will have to keep it up. I am still hoping that they can get in. But they have to win the next 2 games without a doubt to still have a chance.

Post your thoughts and opinions.

GO SKINS!!!!!!

If our Offense gets on track we'll be unstopable. Big 'IF' though...

Sun 1/2 Minnesota L I disagree..and here is why.

Green Bay-Yes they crushed Dallas..but Dallas has a horrible D right now. I see the Skins confusing Favre and shutting down the running game.

Detroit-Actually, I don't see them as that good of a team. Basically no D and not much of an offense in my opinion. Worst Offense in the NFC..yes worst than Skins and 2nd to worst Defense..hmm..no way a win

Philly-Not as dominating as you might think. They should have lost to the Browns and the Browns showed their weaknesses yesterday.

Pitt- Rookie QB at the helm that is going to get eaten up by the Blitz.

Giants-The only reason they won was because of 7 turnovers and they barely beat us.

Cowboys- It's payback time..simple as that

Minnesota- Now this is a tough one..well rounded team

I see the Skins finishing 7-3 or 6-4 at the worst.

I think you're assuming that we're going to turn this around and be a good team all of a sudden. I'm not making that assumption. We have the worst offense in the NFL and I don't see that improving drastically with our current QB. I guess we'll see, won't we?

One game at a time.

Let's start by beating the Packers this week and worry about making the playoffs when the time comes, if it does.

I'm not assuming we are a good team. We ARE a Good team. And as far as us being the worst team offensively speaking, I think you should look at the stats. Detroit is ranked worse than us. Also you need to look at why we have lost and by how much. No one team has dominated us in any loss this season. We have lost all games by a TD or less. And in those games, they were lost by mistakes (mostly mental) of our team..not where the other team beat us..but more where we beat ourselves. And I won't mention the poor officiating either. oops..I just did.

The Skins are NOT as bad as some people would like to think. They have made mistakes and mental errors. If they can come in and play mistake free football..they will win more games than you think. That is the key. The Defense will keep them in all the games. The O just needs to pick it up.

Hey Matty..I was just trying to keep everyone optimistic and keep their hopes up. Some people are writing the Skins off already..I am just trying to let everyone know that they still have a chance and too keep their hopes up.

Good teams don't go 2-4. Good teams don't make mental mistakes. Good teams don't blame bad officiating. Good teams can move the ball on offense.
