How Bad Is Brunell Really?offiss 10-24-2004, 08:30 PM Well he couldn't beat the cowgirl's! SUNRA 10-24-2004, 08:40 PM Not as bad as Vinny Testerverde. My question is how good are the teams the Redskins lost to? jdlea 10-24-2004, 09:35 PM I think he is worse than Vinny Testaverde. The last couple of weeks he has put up impressive numbers...for a running back!!! Gmanc711 10-24-2004, 09:42 PM Not as bad as Vinny Testerverde. My question is how good are the teams the Redskins lost to? NYG - They are a good but not great team. I dont know the jury is still out on them, but they are better than I thought, thats for sure. DAL - They suck. They are a bad football team at this point, even though the refs screwed us that game, we still should have won I think. CLE - I dont know after today. They are pretty clutch at home, but still I dont think a great team, but I guess not bad. BAL - GREAT D, TERRIBLE O. The thing is the way we lost the games though, these might not be that bad of teams, but we were well into every game and had all the chances to win them too. That Guy 10-24-2004, 10:12 PM Not as bad as Vinny Testerverde. except that vinny has 400 more yards, less lost yardage to sacks, less fumbles taken back for TDs, over twice as many 20+ yard throws and a 22 point higher QB rating... not to mention he was 42$million cheaper. VTSkins897 10-24-2004, 10:47 PM of course we overpay for that chump... sorry but whatever happened to keeping the ppl u get? look at the pats ditchin high-dollar bledsoe for brady... seems to have paid off... i want to see ramsey give some spark to our O... at the very worst least he's ballin and gettin used to gibbs' o GoSkins! 10-24-2004, 10:49 PM He still is not playing loose. He seems to be thinking to hard all the time. I don't think that Brunnel is that bad. I also don't think he is that good. What he is is a pretty good QB in a new system that still needs some work. Right now the offense is just not clicking. BUT, if Brunnel could hit a few of those long balls, it would be a lot nicer. Oh yeah... and stop giving it to the other team when they have a clear shot to the end zone. Gmanc711 10-24-2004, 11:26 PM [QUOTE=GoSkins!]He still is not playing loose. He seems to be thinking to hard all the time. QUOTE] Good point. I think the reason alot of us wants Ramsey, is because he takes chances, and throws the ball downfeild. Brunell thinks too much and just throws the ball out of bounds all the time. Heres how I see it, I'd take a Ramsey 3TD/3INT day, becasue of our defense. Whoever is going to start putting up points shoudl be in there, even if it increases turnovers. The way our defense is playing, we can afford to do that at this point. offiss 10-25-2004, 02:00 AM [QUOTE=GoSkins!]He still is not playing loose. He seems to be thinking to hard all the time. You hit the nail on the head Gman, we can overcome a turnover here and there for the production Ramsey will bring, it's the perfect situation to let him play, the defense will allow him the chance to learn and progress, while compensating for his mistakes. Dirtbag 10-25-2004, 03:12 AM Everyone keeps focusing on the quarterback, which is fine, but you have to remember Gibbs' mentality here: his first worry, when it comes to offense, is *always* how well his offensive line is playing. If the OL is tight, then the QB situation usually resolves itself. The line isn't doing all that great these days, and it's clear that Gibbs is more worried about that than anything else. When reporters ask him about Brunell's poor start, Gibbs usually dodges the question and talks about pass protection. For the record, I hope Ramsey starts soon. I love that kid--he's such a gamer and plays with a lot of heart, and he's got a gun of an arm. |
