I like the 3-4 better then the 4-3. It seems teams that have made it to the SB recently are using the 3-4 in some capacity.

Like the Giants, Cards, Bears, Colts, and Seahawks?

This is from the Steel Curtain.....

“From ”http://twitter.com/Adam_Schefter" target="new">Adam Schefter Steelers Dir. of Football Ops Kevin Colbert took Mike Shanahan to lunch and set him up to study tape after. Steelers beyond accommodating."
And then this:
Adam_Schefter: Shanahan going to study Steelers for a few days, then on to New England to study the Pats. Learning from two of the best organizations.

Do you think that maybe he was watching these two organizations just because they've been 2 of the best teams from the past two years, and they're consistent winners??

I couldn't find it but like someone else said it might be somewhere closer to the front of this thread, but Schefter recently again said that during the off season Shanahan was observing both of those teams cause he wants to install a 3-4 defense. He went on to say he and Slowick are interested in installing either a 3-4 or 3-4 hybrid. He then went on to mention that both were either looking into or talking with Zimmer about being apart of their team. I think it's obvious they couldn't talk to him until the season is over or unless they get permission to talk to him. So it's only rumors right now.

but I'll add that I keep hearing that Schefter and Shanahan are close and talk all the time. If there is info coming out from him its almost golden cause no one else is getting anything out of Shanahan.

I'm not a member at ESPN so I can't look into any topics Schefter has put up recently. He is with ESPN now right?

Hey Shanny or Allen, I know your all over these boards now.... :)

Maybe look into Mike Leach as QB coach. Ya know him, he's the recently fired HC of Texas Tech. Set all kinds of records with his passing offenses. Might be nice to have on the staff as a QB coach who can add a little flavour to you WCO.

Leach is known for building some very potent offenses, directing very prolific passing-oriented teams that have broken school and NCAA records at Valdosta State, Kentucky, Oklahoma, where he was offensive coordinator under Hal Mumme[7] and Bob Stoops,[8] respectively, and Texas Tech, where he became head coach in 2000. Leach's spread offense relies heavily on passing and he has seen several of his quarterbacks post NCAA records. At Kentucky he tutored prospect Tim Couch into a No. 1 NFL Draft Pick. At Oklahoma, Josh Heupel became an NFL draft pick following a year under Leach's tutelage.

Most likely he'll get a HCing gig at some college wanting to get their program out there.

Yes it's PFT and they are not 100% reliable but they do grab their info from everyone else.....

Uh oh, I haven't seen this untill now..... would we be in line to pick up T.O.?

Chris Mortensen of ESPN reports that if Bills WR Terrell Owens leaves Buffalo, the Redskins may be a destination for Owens. If the Redskins hire Mike Shanahan, Shanahan lobbied for Terrell Owens with the Broncos and may look to recruit the wide receiver again for the Redskins. The Buffalo Bills signed Owens to a 1-year, $6.5 million contract this offseason but he is free to sign with another team once free agency begins this offseason
