Any chance a firing happening this week? Just wondering if Zorn doesn't get fired this means that Allen is indeed calling the shots and not Snyder (who would typically make a knee jerk decision and fire Zorn after such an embarrassing loss).
i would guess that zorn is fired tomorrow... i think that they (snyder, allen, et al) are trying to get the sour taste of the season out of the fans' mouths at this point, with the goal, among others, to get fans out to these last two home games... cerrato retires this week and the euphoria takes people to the stadium for the big monday nighter... now, after getting murdered on national tv, firing zorn, making someone like sherm smith and jerry gray the interim head coach, and announcing shannahan or whomever as the new head coach next season brings a little more hope/goodwill to get folks out to the cowboys game... the point is not losing fan-generated revenue from those games from poor attendance...
also, firing zorn tomorrow gives you a head start on getting the new coach hired before the end of the season and avoiding a possible bidding war... you can't hire a HC without firing the old one.... technically...

Good point. They should go ahead and fire Zorn then. No sense in having this cat and mouse game in regards to coach interviews.

The situation has simply become too much of a distraction. IMO we have NO CHANCE of putting up a respectable performance on SNF if Zorn's still the coach. At this point, why wouldn't Zorn be fired? Zorn has already proven that he's not going to quit, allowing Snyder to refrain from paying him his 2010 contract. If Allen really wants to evaluate the players in the remaining two games, he needs to take this weight off their shoulders ASAP so they can focus on football.

Always trust Schefter when it comes to Shanahan
I realize most people view florio as a joke, but i think he made a good point when he speculated that because of Schefter's relationship with Shanahan, he's putting out the word that Shanahan isn't interest in Dallas due to the control issues there in order to force Dallas' hand to give him what he wants. The report can be spun either way.
I think Schefter is a professional and wouldn't be leaking false news to help out a buddy. I think Florio is reaching with that.

And Florio is a joke...you would never see Schefter dropping the f-bomb whenever the stuff he reports gets refuted (he did it when his news about a Portis-Zorn spat turned out to be false).

yet again the big name guy.
I have to ask who you would prefer also...
Spurrier was not a big named coach. He was supposed to be the big up and comer out of college which is why we got him. He failed miserably.
Zorn was supposed to be the non big name up and comer offensively. Supposedly other coach's in the league said Zorn would be a great pick for OC. He was going to be a great minded coach. Unfortunatly we picked up and moved him to HC.
Now it sounds like you want the GM to make the call.....what if he picks a big name? or a no name? will you be satisfied knowing finally DS is doing it the right way and allowing a GM to build a team or are you going to complain for what ever reason? I mean I prefer Schottenheimer. I don't see us picking him. I prefer Gruden next, but he's supposedly tied up in his contract.
But I'm atleast happy the team is finally going to do it the right way hopefully by picking a GM.

It wouldnt necessarily be false - he would just be repeating what Shanahan told him.

I sure hope we get Shanahan or another experienced head coach who also has a fairly good track record in acquiring personnel because Allen's history in that department is pretty bad. Tampa Bay's draft picks under his tenure as GM were below mediocre (Al Davis made personnel decisions in Oakland.) Hopefully, Allen recognizes his own strengths and limitations and will pick a head coach who complements his own skill set. Shanahan would be a great fit in this regard.

No one answered me the first time yesterday so I'll ask again.
I know it's never happened before but could/can DS tell Zorn he's moving him to QB coach?
If DS fires Zorn he still owes him for next year which is like 3 mill. I guess it's chump change for him but was wondering because if DS can tell Zorn he's moving him to QB one of two things will happen
1) Zorn stays and makes 3 mill at QB coach, which he's actually good at and is humiliated by being demoted. or....
2) Zorn says no way and resigns. Meaning he leaves and DS does not owe him a thing.
