the junkies had the bucs beat writer (stroud - been covering the bucs before allen got there) on this morning (around 10:30ish) and he said allen did what the owner and HC wanted in tampa, that he was not a guy who would stand up to higher management.
So what does that mean? In any company if you want to stay employed you will have to eventually go with what the owner wants. You can offer your opinion and make a case for it but in the end the owner holds the cards.
No one person is going to come to the Redskins and completely dominate Dan and his decisions, impossible.
Who do people want as GM Hitler??? It just blows my mind people are complaining about Bruce Allen when the guy probably doesn't even know what his office looks like yet. give him a chance.
Some people are just never fawking happy.

As I live in Raleigh and 90% of everyone i know is a panthers fan, i know everyone's hoping he comes to Carolina. As long as he doesn't go to Dallass, i'm happy.
So do you think they realistic going to get rid of Fox given the buyout situation? Just curious.

I honestly don't know enough about the "frugality" of the Panthers ownership, but in talking to my friends (who are honestly not "savvy" enough to get into the financial aspect of front office decisions), they feel Fox will be fired and they HOPE Cowher's the next guy. I don't think they feel Cowher to Carolina is about as much of a given as we feel Shanahan to Washington is - but from my point of view, i've always felt Cowher would end up in Carolina (despite how much i wish he'd be our next coach.). I've got no inside information, its just an opinion/gut feeling. I talk to my friends and i've read the same stuff online that you probably have.
At this point, i think Shanahan's coming here, Cowher's going to Carolina, and Gruden (despite the current contract situation) is going to Dallas. Watch me be wrong on all 3 counts.

I understand being happy about Allen, but i think its fair to look at the history of both Allen and Snyder in determining what our "initial reactions" are. Allen was a yes-man in tampa, the only time he's ever held a GM position. And Snyder does not deserve the benefit of the doubt. As you said, we don't know what his office here will look like. We should give things a chance. I dont think anyone is saying this is absolutely going to be a complete failure. I just think its wise that we temper our joy and enthusiasm with some skepticism.
If the front office ends up looking like JLC's sources indicate, then we have something to be truly happy over. If DeCosta is brought in and Shanahan takes over, i'll be more happy that you can imagine. But if we end up with Allen and Gruden or Allen and a "small-name" coach, then, chances are, nothings really changed and we have vinny 2.0. Time will tell. But we certainly have more reason for optimism than we did 48 hours ago, that much is certain.

BTW, JLC is going to be on ESPN980 within the next hour or so. Should be very interesting to see what his sources are telling him now.

You're my hommie BHA, but if everything you say is true, then there's no point in being a Skins fan. We can't change owners.

I'm really starting to hope that they bring in Doug Williams to the front office. If anything we need more people that understand what Redskins football is all about and I think Doug Williams understands that. On top of that I remember Jeff Bostic talking on America's Game about how the offensive line preferred Doug Williams, mainly because he respected the O-Line, where as Jay Schroeder could have cared less. Combine that with the fact that Tampa drafted multiple O-Lineman early during the Allen/Williams/Gruden era and I think we have a chance to get back on track.
