This is the beginning of the sign I have been looking for from Snyder. His willingness to change.

This also probably spells the end for Zorn as well.

Spells the end for Zorn?

He was gone as soon as Lewis was hired.

I'm totally shocked w/the timing. After January 3 I wouldn't have been. Gotta wonder what Snyder has up his sleeve.

So long Vinny, I hope all is well w/you personally & DS gave you a nice chunk o change to raise your baby, but in the long run this may be bigger for our team than Joe Gibbs coming back.

Will this be the last Vinny thread?

Lets hope that in 2-4 years we don't see threads about DS re-hiring him, or nostalgic for the great drafts of VC.

Could this have anything to do with how serious the talks between Holmgren and Clevland have become. Now you can leave Zorn in and have S.Lewis and Holmgren running the show and have Zorn just doing the Head Coach/Puppet. Maybe we can lure Gruden out from behind the Monday Night booth.

Oh the possibilities!

Very nice, this had made my day. Now, let's hope DS makes a good move and brings in someone who is football-intellegent.

Cerrato's statement:

Vinny Cerrato has announced his resignation from the Washington Redskins.

Cerrato has served as the club’s executive vice-president of football operations for the past two years, and previously served in five different roles, beginning in 1999.

In a statement, Cerrato said he has had numerous conversations with team owner Daniel M. Snyder over the last few weeks regarding the next steps for the club.

“We agreed that the franchise needs someone different in this position,” Cerrato said. “I’m thankful to Dan Snyder and other members of his ownership team for the opportunities I’ve been given over the years.”

“Of course, I am disappointed with this year’s results, but I strongly believe that with outstanding draft picks and encouraging performance by our younger players, we have laid a strong foundation for the franchise.”

“I’ve had the pleasure of working with some great coaches such as Joe Gibbs, Greg Blache and Sherman Lewis, great people on the Redskins staff, and, most especially, some of the best professional football players in the world. I wish them all the best. I’ve also had the privilege of working for a franchise supported by the most loyal fans in the NFL.”

The team’s owner thanked Cerrato for the work he has accomplished.

“More importantly, he is my friend, and he has always been there for me and the Redskins,” Snyder said. “He’s the consummate optimist and has always made decisions based on what would be the best for the team."

No Zorn in the Coach list.
