Monkeydad 12-18-2009, 04:25 PM Chad Ochocinco wants to wear his friend's #15 in the next game but as we know from Portis' attempt to wear #21, it was denied by the NFL.
I still expect Chad to ignore the league and just pay the fine to do it.
Some people are claiming he's doing it to promote himself, but I actually think Chad is doing this to honor his friend. I saw him in an interview last night and he was clearly shaken by the loss.
He may be a crazy attention whore, but in reality, he doesn't commit crimes, hurt anyone or disrespect anyone while having his fun. He's a show-boater, but a different breed than we're used to. He's more like a class clown than arrogant jerk who wants to embarrass and crush everyone around him. If anything, he seeks to embarrass himself instead of others.
I've never been a fan of his and glad the rumors of him coming to the Skins last year fell through, but I can't run him down after losing a friend. He's not doing anything flamboyant to profit on Henry's identity and death, he just wants to wear his number to honor him. When Portis wanted to do the same after Taylor's death, I understood the reasoning behind it. Maybe since I'm a Skins fan who knows what it is like to lose a player, but I have some sympathy for the Bengals and Ochocinco in this situation.
I say go for it, Chad. Pay the fine and honor your friend the way you want to.
They're wearing helmet stickers too.

Defensewins 12-18-2009, 04:52 PM What is with the NFL that are such number Nazi's?
Who cares what number someone wears as long as they can be identified by that number?
jsarno 12-18-2009, 10:14 PM More news this morning says that she did drive off and leave him after she saw that he had fallen off.
There is also a 911 tape of her calling 911 when he jumped in the truck, but the audio has not been released.
listening to reports from the crime scene investigators, they are roughly 90% sure of what happened. The tire marks in the road indicate clearly that she was deliberatley swerving to try and throw him off, which she succeeded in doing. They also said speed is a factor and he may have had less serious injuries had he fallen off at a slower speed. Apparantley she was going pretty fast..
Looks like just a matter of time before she is charged with manslaughter. It's not 1st degree murder, but at the very least it could be negligent homicide, etc....
EDIT
Someone already posted what I said...

This is the most informative article yet...Chris Henry's death, according to eyewitnesses, and neighbors, was most definatley not accidental. Read the article.
Shocking...Chris was threatening to kill himself....
Very twisted. Good post.

They just discussed this on the NFL network and come on do you really think Ochocinco gives a flying F**k what Roger says he can and can't do as far as that goes!?
Chad already said they can take my whole paycheck
Can we get a Bengals fan in here to let us know if he does it lol

2nd degree murder in the state of california along with a reckless driving charge and Vehicular manslaugter.
And for the sake of them kids I hope they don't remember this....I know that sounds harsh but they are gonna need some help.
Thats what it seems like.....the lady just wanted to be spoiled because she probably figured that Chris would make all the money....and some of the NFL guys just can't seem to stay away from it....like Travis Henry....he had 9 kids by 9 different woman, and child support basically robbed him of everything that he would have ever made in the NFL...
Somebody needs to educate these players about making good choices, obviously....
See my earlier post about that.

I found it interesting that he ended up a half a mile away from the 911 caller.
I will keep my initial feelings about her to myself because all the facts are not known. But look at it this way. If there is a silver lining in all of this his kids (and or family depending on where he resides) will receive his assets and she has no rights as a spouse.
The prison guards will give her the treatment that she deserves.
SolidSnake84 12-19-2009, 09:47 PM Im sorry for my negativity in this thread about the Tonga lady, but it just seems too obvious from hearing people talk over the last 24 hours...especially the people who knew them.
You have all drawn your own conclusions, but me not even being a Crime Scene investigator can pretty much see the black and white in this case..
Add up everything we know so far...the 911 calls...the witnesses who saw Tonga's crazy driving...and the fact that if it were an 'accident' she would have surely called 911 when she saw Chris go out of the truck/jump whatever...
We know they were arguing about wedding cost. Apparantley it looked like she was trying to pull a fast one on Henry with the expensive photographer, etc.. (Henry had no idea of the cost). It seems too cut and dry here. I'm not saying she's a gold digger...but come on seriously. She had 3 kids and Chris was a father figure and more likely, an easy meal ticket.
Last i heard today, its only a matter of time before charges are filed on her. Likely 2nd degree manslaughter, failing to report an accident, etc....we will see what the homicide investigators decide...
JPPT1974 12-19-2009, 10:11 PM Praying for his family, Bengals organization, and fans he left behind. Thoughts and prayers are with him.
