Orakpo 2009 Defensive rookie of the and pro bowlersaden1 12-14-2009, 06:07 PM Brian needs 15 sacks to guarantee his pro-bowl spot and get the nod for ROTY. RedskinMike 12-14-2009, 06:35 PM Orakpo definately should get consideration for DROY but the pro-bowl may be a stretch because of flex positions. Would he be a pro-bowler at LB/or DE? Carter is enjoying a fine year but is not a pro-bowl caliber player. Fletcher is long overdue and should be invited. Haynesworth I'm skeptical about because of his rather up and down season. He's only played approx 60% of the defensive snaps and has missed a lot of time. At times he's played up to the status, but has it been enough? Don't know what you mean by up and down season, besides missing a few games he has played at a pro bowl level all year. Swarley 12-14-2009, 06:50 PM 2 forced fumbles for Matthews as well (1 for Orakpo). Either way, I didn't say Matthews would get it, just that he'll definitely be strongly considered I think right now Matthews is getting all the attention so it would seem he's the front runner. If Orakpo can have another big game on monday though, things can change real fast. Meks 12-14-2009, 07:09 PM redskins always get screwed ... orakpo i really, really hope get DROY -- highest of hope for the pro bowl... Fletcher BETTER get the damn pro bowl nod. it'd be ridiculous for him not to make it. rbanerjee23 12-14-2009, 07:59 PM see the sig...been saying it for a long time Meks 12-14-2009, 08:14 PM yea he needs to be at DE full time. that shit pisses me off that Blache/Managment is so F%%^*$ STUBBORN AND DON'T see the best thing they haVE RIGHT UNDER THEY DAMN NOSES. GMScud 12-14-2009, 11:10 PM If I had a vote, I'd probably go Orakpo Byrd Cushing Matthews Of course I'm biased. I gotta say, 9 INTs is really impressive. More so than 11 sacks through 13 games. Orakpo has three games in front of him that all have huge playoff implications for the opponents, and they will draw national attention. He has a chance to get after Eli Manning, Tony Romo, and Philip Rivers on consecutive weeks. If he does, he could easily take home DROY. Paintrain 12-14-2009, 11:59 PM I hope he get a Pro Bowl berth.. I got my jersey last week and my Pro Bowl tix are in my desk drawer! CultBrennan59 12-15-2009, 12:28 AM Peter King definitley noticed Orakpo: Defensive Player of the Week Brian Orakpo, OLB, Washington. Who'd have thought Orakpo would have rushed the pass more productively in the first 13 games of his rookie year than Demarcus Ware, Julius Peppers and LaMarr Woodley? By the measure of sacks, he has. His four-sack day at Oakland (sacks for losses of nine, nine, nine and 10 yards) gave him 11 for the year. SmootSmack 12-23-2009, 01:43 PM Jairus Byrd was just put on IR...which certainly helps Orakpo's hopes |
