I thought your point was he's never run a front office before.
He does have experience doing it and he's probably always had a significant say in personnel during his coaching years. You made the mistake of taking his statement as literal. You should know better.

Some stats to compare:
Jason Campbell
TD:17 INT:12 YDS:2946 RTG:89.0
Jay Cutler
TD:19 INT:22 YDS: 3023 RTG:75.2
Mark Sanchez
TD:11 INT:17 YDS:2049 RTG: 63.7
Kyle Orton
TD: 16 INT:8 YDS:2904 RTG: 88.9
Shouldn't we be glad the trade didn't occur?

I think that much is beyond obvious at this point, although i'd give Sanchez some time to develop before passing judgement. Its not really fair to compare a rookie QB to a 5 year veteran. He may actually end up being a MUCH better QB than Campbell in 5 years.
That said, I'd be shocked if Sanchez developed into a better QB than Orakpo already is as DE.

If we hadn't traded for Campbell back in 2005, we potentially could have drafted Orton or Cutler and still had the other picks we gave away. Just saying

I am glad that people are starting to see good in JC & JZ.

Just saw inside the nfl, and Michael Lombardi thinks that Campbell will definitley be back next year and said that JC has soldified himself as a starting QB in the NFL, and Shanahan will be the next head coach.

Hopefully JC comes back. He has been much better now that he has more confidence the recievers around him.
