I think they may need Ganther and Rock.
If it were me, I would keep CP one more year and cut Betts. Betts has a 2 year injury and gets banged up too much anyway. So cut him loose.
I also think that one of those middle picks should be a runningback.

Keep Both.
My cloudy crystal ball reveals cutting Betts loose, Portis retiring, and Ganther splitting carries with...your choice of Mike Bell, whomever the Falcons don't re-sign between Jerious Norwood/Jason Snelling, or LenDale White. Rock stays on as Special Teamer/3rd RB. Mike Bell loses out to Pierre Thomas and Reggie Bush, the Falcons won't keep both letting one of them test the market, and LenDale has Javon Ringer waiting to take his place.

I met Q's family yesterday at the game -- they were awesome. Hope he stays with us.

I'd cut Cartwright. He's not going to start here and maybe he even lost the KR job. Let him try somewhere else...hopefully it'll work this time for him.

I like the way the Cowgirls utilize there 3 RB's plus it will add more years to Barber's career maybe we need to try that instead of trying to force Portis into a featured back role at the end of his career.

Ganther, younger and I think quicker. He's like Rock, but has some moves as well. I love Rock, but I don't see the need for him anymore.

Before the season I wouldn't have been upset if Rock wasn't on the team and I figure that I'll be the same after this one. That being said he's given it everything that he's got and it really comes down to who else we have around in the off-season. Not trying to knock on him at all though, he's always done what's been asked of him. If we want to do a split-carry system next year, keep him around. If we're looking for a feature back, once again we'll have to see who else we bring in. Cutting him due to production or salary wouldn't make a lot of sense to me though, unless he's only good enough to be the number 3 back, in which case we may as well get younger.

I didn't want to start a new thread for this so I figured this was the most appropriate place for RB discussion..
From Mort's chat today:
Do NFL people think CJ Spiller is an every down NFL back or more of a Felix Jones-Reggie Bush fast but fragile type of player?
Chris Mortensen (12:01 PM)
What I'm hearing about Spiller is that NFL teams love him. He could even be a top 10 pick. He also has great character.
I wouldn't be opposed to Spiller, if we address OL in free agency and with our 2nd round pick.

I would rather have one of the quarterbacks than Spiller and I want no part of the quarterbacks.
The best offensive lineman available is the only choice that makes sense to me with our number one pick.
