What's the point of a Redskins fan watching the draft? You know Vinny & Danny are going to pick WRs, TE, and QBS.
F. . . The NFL draft.Trample the Elderly 12-10-2009, 12:28 PM What's the point of a Redskins fan watching the draft? You know Vinny & Danny are going to pick WRs, TE, and QBS. SmootSmack 12-10-2009, 12:30 PM Exactly, the nfl & espn know the ratings are high enough that it can compete on prime time tv, and generate more viewers than on a saturday for reasons which you note above. Thank the NFL for this move BigHairedAristocrat 12-10-2009, 12:46 PM I believe the earliest there would be no draft is 2012 So in that case would all college players essentially become free agents - able to sign with any team they liked? would there even be limits on how many years of college a player had play before becoming eligible to play in the NFL? No draft sounds like complete and utter chaos to me. BigHairedAristocrat 12-10-2009, 12:47 PM What's the point of a Redskins fan watching the draft? I must say last year's draft was very exciting - trading down and picking up 3 2nd round picks. it was like a fans dream come true.... then we picked all WRs and TEs. drew54 12-10-2009, 01:01 PM Over the past few years I have found myself watching the draft less and less, mainly because on a Saturday afternoon I can find a million other things to do vs. watching TV. However on a Thurs. or Fri night, that's prime TV time. I'll watch even more with this new setup. You were watching less because we had no picks. :) SmootSmack 12-10-2009, 01:03 PM So in that case would all college players essentially become free agents - able to sign with any team they liked? would there even be limits on how many years of college a player had play before becoming eligible to play in the NFL? No draft sounds like complete and utter chaos to me. I don't know about eligibility but it would basically be like free agency. Teams would just bid and outbid on college players Trample the Elderly 12-10-2009, 01:04 PM I must say last year's draft was very exciting - trading down and picking up 3 2nd round picks. it was like a fans dream come true.... then we picked all WRs and TEs. Add that to this years and you'll see what I'm talking about. I don't see any OTs or Gs that are worth a damn? Dirtbag59 12-10-2009, 01:05 PM I'm going to miss laying around on Sunday watching the "nobodies" get drafted. On a positive note, at least I don't need to wake up early but personally if they want to move the first round to primetime then they should move the second round with it. I must say last year's draft was very exciting - trading down and picking up 3 2nd round picks. it was like a fans dream come true.... then we picked all WRs and TEs. Watching Orakpo fall was pretty exciting to but admittedly I was disappointed when Sanchez got drafted. skin4Life28 12-10-2009, 01:07 PM I'll definitely watch more since its on A Thursday night. I watched a lot of the draft last year, since it was on my wedding day. My groomsmen and I were enjoying it. But that really is one of the few times I have actually watched it. I normally tune in for our pick and I'm done. Dirtbag59 12-10-2009, 01:10 PM I'll definitely watch more since its on A Thursday night. "Dearly beloved we are gathered here today to celebrate the union of man and woman in holy matrimony. And with the 7th pick in the NFL draft the Raiders select Darrius Heyward-Bey, wide reciever, Maryland." |
