Portis gave us several good years. More than most other running backs we've had here. He played hard on Sundays, gave us all some light-heartedness with his costumes, took it upon himself to call every player when Taylor died (and I think if I recall correctly he had just lost a child during that same time-or something along those lines). I'm glad he's been a Redskin though I think it's time to move forward without him, I'm not saying good riddance.

I will continue to pray for Portis' health and well being. He has been a warrior for his time, and has come close to breaking the Redskins all-time rushing mark. His condition is indicative of just how violent the game of football has become as we're now seeing more and more concussions. His health is more important than football.

Good riddance, I hope he never plays for us again.

Most overrated Redskin of the last decade.

Are there any current Redskins you have a positive impression of? All I see you do around here is rip on people.

I'm amazed at all the concussion specialists here on Warpath who have properly diagnosed Portis' condition and readiness to return this season. But of course Portis has declined because he's lazy and has a big mouth.

I've wondered about this. Is Portis just taking the season off in hopes of a trade or a better Skins team next year? Seems kind of fishy to me that he is still suffering concussion complications this long, (from the hit he took spacifically).

Sums up my feelings 100% ... really loved the guy, some of the memories in 2005, 2007 (and the first offensive play I ever saw at FedEx was him taking it to the house.. or maybe second who knows...but one of my favorite moments ever)... I just think its time.

My bad, I omitted a few words from my original post. Re-read it.

I agree with you and SS, as I feel same way.. Although I think the idea of releasing Portis still hasn't come up in Vinny's mind because he knows Snyder loves him.. Releasing Portis would only unleash hell coming out from Snyder, that is unless if Snyder has learned how to back out..

You're way off there.

I've been critical of Campbell, Portis and Landry.

I'm sure 90% of members have slagged off many more players than that.
