I remember way back when Earnest Byner was our workhorse and then Riggs would come in for the 1-yard TD run. But I never really thought of Riggs as a change of pace back.
On the other hand, Joe Washington's 10 or so carries with a few catches thrown in...I saw him as a change of pace to Riggo's 30+ carries.
I guess what I'm getting at is I don't really see Gerhart as a change of pace back.
oh hell no, i missed that post, he is the opposite of a change of pace back imo, if we want a change of pace back we should grab noel divine in the 5th, tiny little dude and quick as hell takes him one cut and he's gone for 75 yards

Joe Washington is a great example Smoot. I like Gerhart alot but he's only a change of pace back if Alridge (or someone like him) is the starter. It usually goes the other way around.

Clinton Prtis Really let me down in fantasy. Tried Ladell Betts. Now its Ganther.
I'll give you a theory.
Clinton Portis and Dan Snyder are actually running an illegal prostitution ring. Now the Florida branch was starting to show a dip in profits so Dan has to send his Main Pimp for the Southeastern portion of the country (Portis) had to go and get the people in line and oversee operation there. So, he has Clinton Portis fake a concussion and was originally scheduled to come back. However, things were going on so well in Florida that Snyder has considered breaking the No Pimpin in Atlanta Treaty of 2006 and keeping Portis, his top guy down there ro get things rolling. Around this time is when Clinton was originally supposed to make his return but Snyder has a sit down with some of his connects in Pittsburgh to give Portis a less than satisfactory report. Coincidently, there has been a 16% rise in ATM Withdrawls in the Cobb County area. One would have to assume that this is the key.
Next year Portis will be back playing for the Skins becuase by that time sources say that Snyders Snatches should be running smoothly with hopes of moving into Texas. Watch out for Brian Orakpo having a contract dispute or a mini-camp boycott. It's all there man, all you have to do is search for the answers.
LOL well at least you could offer something up.
Snyders Snatches?
I thought you were referring to some of DS's ill advised personel moves?

So how does everyone feel about addressing the RB situation if Portis is done (injury or cut do to salary) in Washington for next year? Id like to see that second round pick used on a RB (with the first used on a lineman) if there are any there worthy of a pick. I seriously worry about Betts too being ready for next season with that injury, sounded pretty severe. Yes Ganther has shown something, but is he a starter in this league, is that name "big" enough for Snyder? Is Rock done? I think Rock is a great 3rd running back, but thats about as high Id have him on the depth chart. Any free agents? Id wouldnt mind Sproles splitting time back there with Betts...but at what cost? I mos def dont want to see a Portis-size contract for any free agent out there...any opinions???
I think it would be wise to take a RB somewhere in the draft. A rotation of Ganther/Rock/Betts might be ok for the short run, but we need some fresh legs in here.

I agree. Portis has played his best football here, and he stands to gain nothing in the future but risking his long-term health.
He was on his last legs in 2008 and this year should prove to everybody what it looks like when a runningback's wheels literally fall off.
We need a new, young RB.
