why? our secondary has always been suspect and we haven't developed anyone since he has been here, besides rogers and that's not saying much
I might disagree with that.

Update: Jerry Gray Not Taking Memphis Jobtryfuhl 11-30-2009, 04:19 PM why? our secondary has always been suspect and we haven't developed anyone since he has been here, besides rogers and that's not saying much I might disagree with that. tryfuhl 11-30-2009, 04:20 PM This is not really Gray's fault though. It's on the players. Our corners are merely decent (Tryon is a better than decent NB), but outside of the Dallas game, our safeties have been atrocious. Yeah, our pass D relied heavily on ST.. DeSean would've been concussed long before Fletcher got to him had he still been around and they tried those same plays. Monkeydad 11-30-2009, 04:21 PM I might disagree with that. So would the facts! Pass defenses that wouldn't allow blown coverages week after week, and if they did, would fix the problem. The best passers we've seen this year are Eli Manning or Matt Ryan, and I think everyone else in the league has played at least ONE quarterback/team passing game better than NYG or ATL. The truth about this secondary good or bad will be shown on sunday against the Saints. If we can contain them to a lower scoring percentage I honestly hope all the crap talk about this defense will stop. mlmdub130 11-30-2009, 05:55 PM So would the facts! NFL - Statistics by Team - Yahoo! Sports (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/stats/byteam?group=Defense&cat=Rankings&conference=NFL&year=season_2009&sort=1122&timeframe=) you love the stats but this ain't fantasy football, all i know is our secondary gives up big plays and you can't deny that, i define that as suspect. no one prepares for our games scared to throw, like they would if they were denver with bailey and b dawkins, they know if they need a big play they can usually get one mcarey032 11-30-2009, 10:15 PM Cornerback is all about god given talent. But we have had a good secondary as long as he has been here. Tryon, and hall, have show serious improvement. If Bill Belichick can take a WR and turn him into a DB, I don't know how true taht really is. Yes you do have to have some talent and be able to work with what you have, but we have been killed on some long plays over the last few weeks. I am sorry, but I don't want to see any more 15 yard cushions which result in nickel and diming us all the way down the field. I guess we will see what happens with Gray. If he becomes the HC, you will only see more of the same because he will be a guy like Zorn who will be easily controlled and that will also mean that probably Cerrato will stay on. |
