Nice to see a member of the coaching staff get a boost...especially Gray cuz it seems he's a class guy.
I wonder if this has implications for coaching staff decisions in '10. Blache is certain to leave, right? Gray was probably the next in line for D coord. With both gone it seems like the FO, whatever that is, will look outside the franchise for new leadership on the defensive side of the coaching staff.

what was Gray coach of?
Secondary. Personally I think secondary coaches tend to be great DC/HC candidates. There's a lot of scheming and packaging in the secondary so these guys are typically real smart. Tomlin was secondary coach first...I bet a lot more solid HCs out there were secondary guys early on too.

It's a shame he didn't get the job a few years sooner, he could have had Deangelo Williams in his arsenal. Good for him though.

John Harbaugh was secondary coach in Philly before taking the Baltimore job. And I think Raheem Morris was a secondary coach before being bumped to HC, but I'm not positive.

Wasn't Harbaugh special teams coach? Was he secondary coach as well?

He coached the secondary for one season.

Looks like the children have found another opportunity to use profanity.
It's a good opportunity for him and I hope he does well. I think this is another clear indication of a housecleaning this offseason. There's really no reason for Snyder to let Gray leave if he had any intention of retaining anyone from the staff. If there was one coach to retain, it would probably be Gray.
Now the biggest question is if he leaves before the end of the season, does Kirk Olividatti take over the media duties that Greg Blache finds beneath him?
This is pure speculation.
Is it possible, that Blache, Snyder, and Gibbs conspired to let Gray take over the media duties to give him more exposure. I realize this would involve assigning less petty motives to our owner/staff than normal, but it seems very possible to me. Didn't Gibbs dinner with Snyder come around the same time? again, pure speculation, but perhaps Gibbs discussed Memphis as a possibility, and Blache backed off to let Gray have some air time. Seems that would be an invaluable asset in showing his presentability.
