No link yet BringBackJoeT 11-24-2009, 04:13 PM Washington Wizards owner Abe Pollin dies at 85 - washingtonpost.com (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/11/24/AR2009112402796.html?hpid=breakingnews) SmootSmack 11-24-2009, 04:20 PM Thanks for posting the link over the mountain 11-24-2009, 04:20 PM dang i remember meeting him way back in the day at a bullets fan appreciation day with moses malone and others. im pretty sure abe really wanted to see another nba championship before his time in dc. cities need more local long term guys like abe. rip. mooby 11-24-2009, 04:55 PM R.I.P. Abe Pollin. Obviously I'm too young to know a lot about the contributions he's made and what a great man he was, but I know enough about him to know he will be missed dearly. I know these last few years he was committed to bringing another championship to D.C. and that's all anyone could ask. R.I.P. itvnetop 11-24-2009, 09:08 PM RIP. Abe did much to revitalize the city. He will be missed. FRPLG 11-25-2009, 10:15 AM RIP Abe. Now I am excited to see what Ted Leonsis can do with the franchise. freddyg12 11-25-2009, 10:35 AM It hit me last night when I saw on comcast that Snyder made a statement about Abe; this is yet another sign to DS that changes MUST be made. The way Abe is remembered, could Snyder ever be remembered like that? If Snyder has just the slightest bit of introspection, he's got to think about how Abe's life & death in terms of his own. Redskins Insider - Snyder reminisces about Pollin (http://voices.washingtonpost.com/redskinsinsider/snyder-reminisces-about-pollin.html) SmootSmack 11-25-2009, 10:54 AM I know I talk often of the time I spent covering the Redskins and being inside their locker room many years ago, but I also spent that time covering the Wizards (among other teams) and while I thought Abe had several flaws as an owner, what he meant to and did for the city and community and who he was as a person is unequaled. RIP indeed bigmarley4 11-25-2009, 11:48 AM Great man. RIP. |
