I remember when it seemed like everyone was gung-ho on Lechler (I think it was Lechler). Wonder how he's doing this year

Lechler is in serious competition to beat Sammy Baugh's punting average record. I for one am hoping for a few shanks.

Is he really? Wow. Oh well, I always figured we'd get Hunter and not Lechler and I'm pleased with what we got

Lechler can punt....but can he score? :laughing- He's probably the best punter in the league but I'm very happy with Hunter. The dude's amazing. He's showing his talents in Washington. Who knew?

Excluding touchdown plays, I think Hunter is the most solid punter that we've had in a long time. Over time and with health he and Lechler will get closer in terms of numbers. I'm quite happy with Hunter. Punts no longer are potential "uh oh" plays.

Lechler
punts 57
avg 51.5
net avg 44.8
touchbacks 4
fair caught 6

Smith
punts 24
avg 42.5
net avg 38.6
touchbacks 2
fair caught 10

100 % agree, except for when he is injured

Hunters ability to position a punt also seems outstanding. I don't know Lechler enough, but am quite content with ole Hunter.

it's cause he has been in oakland for the last decade, he has been a solid punter over the years but no one pays attention to oak anymore, but they have good kickers they also have janickowski too e has been there for a while as well
