Santana isn't an elite receiver, but he isn't a main problem right now.

I don't get the hate on Santana. Yes he isn't a #1 but if we put him in the slot he'd kill for us...providing we had decent outside WRs too. He isn't a bad player he is just miscast. He's as much of a #1 WR as Cooley is a LT or Haynesworth is a LB.

I don't know man. What has he done this year? He's made a ton of mental errors. That's not miscasting, that's lack of focus. Like I said earlier, it's all or nothing with Tanna. He's either getting the deep looks or nothing at all.

It's time for players to start producing where they are, not where they should be.

Clinton Tortoise or Clitoris Portis got my vote (today). He always either (a) tries to get to the corner that isn't there (b) fails to hit the hole or (c) trips on his own two feet. About a month or so ago I was sticking up for Portis and blaming the offensive line. Recently though, Betts and Cartwright have been running fine behind the same guys minus Samuels.

How long have you been a Redskins fan?

33 years. Started around 5 and I am 38 now. Why do you ask?

I'm actually genuinely curious of what fans thought of Riggins his first few years here, before he helped us get a ring. When he was (at the time) a high-priced free agent, with quirky behavior, questionable practice habits, skipping a year, the team doing ok but nothing all that great. Just wondering what the fan reaction was to Riggo's first five years here

I was pretty young at the time so while I loved Riggo I was a little to young to be as critical of his behavior as I tend to be now with players. Who knows how i would feel about a player like Riggins now...I suspect if he carried the Redskins to the Super Bowl I would tolerate his quirky behavior.

Portis has just always rubbed me the wrong way...I don't think his play has ever backed up the salary and status he has on the Redskins. I don't like the seperate set of rules that seem to apply to him or his perceived close relationship with management. All of it together makes a strong case for him being a team cancer.

So far it looks like Rogers and Portis are running away with the votes. Funny story from last night.

Last night I was at a bar watching the Fins/Panthers and me and another guy were talking about football over shots and beer. He's a big Giants fan. Of course major shit talking ensued. So we we're trash talking back and forth and he said that if we could keep our players out of the clubs and partying the night before game day, we might win more games. He didn't drop any names, well one but he wasn't a Redskin. But that wasn't the first time I've heard locals talk about Skins players out and about on the town. In all honesty it's to be expected, but I wonder how far these guys take it.

I just hope we can hunker down these next four or five games and make it interesting.

I know Portis, Moss and ST used to hit the club circuit pretty hard back in the day. I wonder who else on the team would party hard... I get a feeling Rogers does. But no one else really stands out to me.

See the practice thing is something that seems to have come to light recently as an explanation for why Portis has struggled. The funny thing is we praised Kendall, who skipped virtually every practice that didn't involve shorts, and yet we criticize Portis who's practice habits seem to be at least on par with Kendall's, if not better.

So I guess the question is how do we feel about practice?

Ironically I think Portis is still on some level a team player. To me it seemed like there was no one happier for Betts and Cartwrights success then Portis was during the Bronco's game. I personally think it's time to say goodbye, but I don't think Portis is as big of a distraction as we make him out to be.
