THE POST:

Darnerien McCants wasn't activated for the fifth game this season, a contrast to last year, when he played in 15 games and tied Coles with a team-high six touchdowns. McCants's lack of a role this season has been conspicuous because he signed a three-year, $4.5 million contract, including a $2 million signing bonus, in the offseason

Why pay the cash against the cap and not play the guy?

He's deep in the doghouse from what I've heard. He's been really lazy in practices and doesn't like playing on special teams.

Then we should trade him to someone for a draft pick.

Seems like we ask the same question every week.

The general opinion seems to be he's very shaky in practice and hasn't impressed the coaches enough to even dress.

If so, not a bad way to get paid $4.5 mil

If Spurrier comes back to NFL to coach Miami, don't be surprised if Darkerian gets a call from the Ol ball coach.

miami only needs about 4 more receivers, they'd take any of our guys at this point...

I've heard that he is doing well in practice, but he just doesn't play special teams, so especially in Gibbs offense, unless he proves to be a starter (or someone is injured), he won't play due to the numbers game. This is from Vinny C talking to Elliot on DC101 this morning...

unless he proves to be a starter????? you're joking right? you've got to be! the guy was tied for most td catches on the team just last year and he's only been activated once this year(yet to see the field), and gardner nor coles can catch the ball half the time. maybe that's why brunell throws it into the first row 75 % of the time. this would be the equivelant of the Yankees benching Mariono Rivera. McCants is the closer in the redzone. now he's been relegated to the bullpen for good!? i just don't get it. someone please help me understand.
