From the Post:

However, Gibbs conceded that the Redskins must find a way to get the ball downfield. "We've not been able to get hooked up on deep stuff," Gibbs said. "We took a couple of shots today. But to be quite truthful, it's pass protection. We missed a key blitz one time, he got rushed about three or four times. He made good plays getting out of there and getting rid of the ball."

225 yards of rushing created by the O Line and they get blamed for the passing game.

Bugel was saying in the post game that Samuels was playing all game with a swollen ankle. Has anyone else heard anything about that?

Can we just all agree that it is Brunell and not the offensive line? I mean sure they are gonna miss a block or two each game, but seriously, Brunell had time today.

Yeah, the line has been playing well in pass protection ALL YEAR! The type of protection where a QB like Ramsey can pick you apart.

I can't believe Gibbs is so loyal to Brunell. I mean, you can't argue with Coach Joe, but to be honest, I think he is just taking it a little too far here.

Brunell sucks ass right now. Maybe he would concentrate more if he realized he was going to actually lose his job if he kept sucking.

I am a diehard redskinfan as I'm sure we all are that post on this site,I went out of town this weekend and got back in time to see the last 5 minutes of the game,I was glad we were winning but I didnt care if we lost,I've lost hope, after checking Brunell's stats and Gibb's steadfast refusal to replace him just amazes me,and if Brunell starts in 2 weeks, which I'm sure he will,is making me lose faith in Gibbs, which I thought I'd never do

Watching our game today, its pretty obvious to me that we proboly wont make the playoffs. At least not if we play like we did today. I mean we have a great defense, but our offense is so far behind, that good teams are gonna find a way to completley take our offense out of the game, and then eventually be able to pound on our defense because they get tired. We have the foundation to win a championship next season, we really do. If we have half a effort for our offense, we could do it this year. However, Brunell is not scaring anyone , and honestly does anyoen think hes gonna be our starting QB next year? If Gibbs really thinks Ramsey is our future like he has stated, its time to hand it over to him so he can learn the system faster and get ready to win the big one next year.

I just don't understand Gibbs on this one at all.. Why is he protecting brunell so much??
Brunell had time and at times open recievers, YET he was unable to connect!!!
C'mon we were playing the BEARS who are not that solid on passing defense.. If I am correct they are 28th or 29th and yet look at the production we got. THIS IS REDICULOUS!!! How can you still believe that Brunell is your man, he was brought in as a vertran who would play smart, protect the ball and absorb the offense quickly.. he has'nt done any of that.
We hav'nt made the deep threat real, 'cause Brunell is not accurate, while the jury is still out on his arm.. Our offense especially the passing game is really bad.. some of the throws brunell makes are just god awful. I'm sorry I can' take any more of his running along the sideline and throwing the ball away.. This QB throws the ball away more than he does to his recievers!! :(
Gibbs has to try something different..

I just find it odd that Coach is so careful not to call out certain players but will sellout a group that really played well and kind of needs the pat on the back. His typical "I've got to watch the tape" would have been much better. In the postgame interviews on Comcast, Dockery was talking about how the line had it together even though the passing game suffered. I have to believe that this kind of stuff can create division in a locker room. When a unit racks up 225 yds rushing and then takes the blame for the passing game it's got to bother you. Then when you watch the game film and see that you did indeed have a good game...well it's only time before players question why the Coach has it so hot for the QB even if it means selling you out a bit.
I'm sure Joe Gibbs knows what he's doing but...

I don't know why I am posting to this daft thread, but what Joe Gibbs said was: "We took a couple of shots today. But to be quite truthful, it's pass protection. We missed a key blitz one time, he got rushed about three or four times. He made good plays getting out of there and getting rid of the ball."

The pass protection failed on the long pass attempts. That is what Joe Gibbs said. It is also obviously the truth.

As for all the critics about Brunell's arm strength:

"I said before, Mark has a hose," Gardner said. "He has a very strong arm. It's totally bogus. Some of those balls you see, he's under pressure. He can throw that rock. People are looking for excuses because he's older. It's not because of his arm."
