Blame runs so deep in this organization. Remember Buges when questioned in the preseason said, "I am not worried about these guys [speaking of the RT,RG,C,LG], they can get it done, Ask me about my backup LT" (I am going from memory, but am certain of the quote.

The bottom line is that from top to bottom there should be no sacred cows. This teams has underperformed, players have not been developed, talent has been overestimated, and from position 53 to position 1, from the lowest assistant HC to VC, and the owner's role. EVERYTHING has to be cleaned out. I am not saying everybody goes, but certainly no one should stay on name alone. Buges is responsible for the OL the OL failed. I will shed no tear if he is gone next year. I will thank him, but it is time to move forward.

What's he gonna say, our guys suck? Do you think Buges impacted the draft strategy? Doesn't sound like it, at least if you believe the skins insider on wash post which reported that it was agreed the o line was the weakest unit.

I think buges might go once or even before the presumed coaching change is made. Just a feeling.

they look good because they have a qb who make plays. They are very similar to us they have a great defense. A crappy line, marginal wideouts, great tightend, okay runningbacks. the only difference is the QB.

Just so every one knows. Pittsburg does not pick Olinemen in the early rounds. They never pick an offensive lineman, before the third round.Excellent point. But can we be trusted to pick O-linemen later than round 2? Our track record is abysmal on that count, with Rinehart looking like the latest bust. What jumps out at me is how many more picks Pittsburgh has made looking over the last 10-12 years. During that stretch, there have been 4 drafts where the Skins have had 5 picks or fewer. Pittsburgh has 7 to 9 picks almost every year of that stretch with the exception of 2003 (when they hit big on Polamalu). They've had many misses during that stretch, but they've had enough hits from their numerous picks that they have the quality depth that we are sorely lacking.

I would add to this discussion that by all accounts the Giants have a fine offensive line. But they don't start a bunch of first rounders. Their starters are low picks and undrafted FA's. The difference is that they coach these folks to play better.

So I think that the woes on the Skins o-line derive from poor strategies for talent acquisition combined with poor coaching.

I believe that it's not necessarily who they pick in the draft, but the fact that they develop their players and have consistancy in the coaching staff to build talent.
