LL is our MVP so far in my book.

Oh not according to Peter King:

MVP Watch
1. Peyton Manning, QB, Indianapolis. Look at the team he's playing with. It's semi-decimated. Colts are 3-2, and he's completing 70 percent, with 11-1 TD-Interception ratio.
2. Donovan McNabb, QB, Washington. The last time Washington saw a quarterback with McNabb's moxie and guts, Billy Kilmer was playing.
3. Tom Brady, QB, New England. Pats are averaging 33 points a game (obviously, with help from special-teams after last Monday's win), but Brady's importance will only rise now that Moss is gone.
4. Troy Polamalu, S, Pittsburgh. Long uphill climb for Roethlisberger to catch the big-haired one as the Steelers' most valuable.
5. Josh Freeman, QB, Tampa Bay. Forget the stats. Watch the Bucs. They're a gallant team, and Freeman makes more mistakes than he should. But he's the on-field keystone to an intriguing team that's not going away

I think easily. Only one who warrants any mention is Rak.

Yeah McNabb makes sense. I definitely don't think we're 3-2 without him.

Landry = our defensive MVP
McNabb = our offensive MVP

Hey there ya'll. I haven't been able to watch as much of our games as I'd like to be sure, but I've seen enough to know 1) my thread is obsolete and 2) Landry is easily the most improved player on the roster from last year.

One thing I think is interesting is we didn't hear the coaches talking Landry up a ton coming into the season. I wonder if this level of performance was expected?

...as to changing the thread title or shutting it down I'm good w/ either :)

You're a stand up man, Goat.

Haslett said from the start that Landry is the most talented player he's coached, and Landry himself was talking all offseason about how he was going to explode this year. I think the fans are the only ones surprised at his turnaround.

Reminds of G. Williams comment about Sean. Also reminds me Sean struggled for, what, two seasons before he showed us his elite talent?

No doubt Landry was held back by coaching and scheme, so it took him three seasons to get here. And as you pointed out he obviously grew into himself over the off-season.

...basically it turned into the perfect scenario for '10. I'm extremely glad the new regime kept Landry!!!

I know it sounds.....silly, but I would have taken it hard if LL had not worked out....

The Billy Kilmer comparisons are pretty fitting for McNabb, re: intangibles.

Not sure Kilmer was ever 2nd on anyone's MVP ballot though.

His play has disappointed me since the beginning of the '08 campaign but what I saw today was appalling. I went back a watched the reel several times keying in on Landry.

First off I noticed Turner's long run (12:15 to go in the first quarter) when Landry finally forced him out of bounce. Laron didn't even try to lay the wood. He barely bumped Turner and looked like a complete coward. I think what is even more cowardly was the hit on Ryan. The ONLY time Landry tries to lay the wood is when someone is scrambling out of bounce. This is as pathetic as it is cheap and I sincerely the hope the league fines Landry at least several weeks of pay.

Moving onto the first Turner TD Landry took the worst angle I've seen all season (not just by him but by any defensive player). Whatever skill/talent he had at one time appears to be in full regression. And finally the second Turner TD Landry had a clear shot before Turner breaks into the open but he simply dove to the turf to avoid contact.

Landry's cowardice is an embarrassment not only to the Redskins but, in the larger picture, to the game of football. He should be benched for his lousy play notwithstanding, but for the cowardice he has no business wearing a uniform. For the sake of the game I hope he is benched for the year and quickly traded/cut in the off-season. Personally I don't think I'll be able to watch another game as long as he's on the field :(

Is Crow a dish best served cold? Or is that something else??

But i cant really talk Hasslett keeps shutting me up and i hope he continues to do so!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just wanted to say, I never posted anything here about our superstar NFC player of the week.
