What about moving Landry to SS...and Lendy Holmes at FS?

Or what about moving Landry to "not on the redskins" and keeping reed doughty at SS. Despite the small talent difference, I would much much rather have someone who actually knows how to tackle and plays his heart out every game.

I'd be okay with a mix of lendy holmes and kareem moore at FS - perhaps pick up a coverage safety in the draft too?

when do you get to the point of sitting him? i cant believe after the first toasting yesterday that Gray wasn't in his ear telling him DO NOT GET BEAT DEEP! then it happens at one of the most crucial times in the game. either put him at his rightful spot, or sit his immature ass

"No matter how it looks I'm going to try to jump on it, get the break on something," Landry said. "Staring it down, they ran a nice double move. He stepped up in the pocket, I watched him step up in the pocket. ... Great call in that situation."

Landry accepts whatever criticism comes from the media and fans. "I mean, y'all talk about it y'all talk about it," he said. "I mean, the nature of it is how it looks.

"Y'all don't really know the play call, y'all don't really know the situation. If it's talked about it's talked about. I can't stop that. All you can do is know the truth behind it and have thick skin."

Maybe they should put a gag order on him and not allow him to talk to the media. "It's better to be quiet and thought a fool than to open ones mouth and remove all doubt."

I don't consider Landry a bust, because he isn't playing his original position. When he's in his form at SS, he is a beast. He excellerates on run defense, and chases down fast running backs. But were putting him in a situation he is not used to, which is to cover deep. His inexperience at the position has obviously been exposed. He repeatedly bites on the double move, and then gets burned for a big play.

You always incorrectly say he was a SS at LSU. That is wrong.
According to LSU web sight (link below) and his college Bio LaRon Landry was a FS in college at LSU.
In his freshmen year he had 10 starts, his first career LSU start at CB. Then his second career start was at SS. Then for the final 8 games of his freshmen year he was starting FS . He remained the starter at FS for the remaining 3 years (Soph, jr. and sr. years).

i felt the need to bump this post since everyone still says he isn't playing his true position

The point is his skills are better suited for the SS spot. He's too undisciplined at FS and every OC in the league knows it.

you said right there, and that falls back on the coaching not being tough enough. you think dick lebeau would let him get away with this, doubtful, they can take retreads like ryan clark and make them probowl caliber

No matter what he played in college, he was drafted to play SS.
