Doesn't matter who started it or not, and while I don't discredit Hall at all, the entire Atlanta bench shares blame in this as well. You see Hall being physically pulled into the melee by the ATL Coaching staff. Whether he's talking shit or not, whether he started it or not and whether he's a punk or not, that is totally unacceptable. The Falcons lost their cool period.
Mike Smith's beef should have been with Landry, who got up after the hit and trotted back to the huddle. Instead, he lost his cool and took it out on the completely wrong person.

I think Hall might have a legit gripe about what went on there. Smith and the strength coach had no business getting involved like that.
Hall had no right to be on the Falcons sideline, not after Ryan AND Landry walked off the sideline together before the melee started.

I fully applaud Mike Smith. He saw his QB get hit late and he wanted a piece of someone. I have no problem with that. Guys talk shit on the field all the time....there was some pushing and shoving and some f bombs. Big deal. It's football, not golf. My problem is why was Hall even involved? As usual he didn't hit anyone. Like a lil' bitch he walked over there looking for trouble AFTER the hit. His non tackling ass should've walked back to the huddle.
a coach should never want a piece of someone and def should never put hands on a player.
this seems like that GB coach and warren sapp years ago when sapp blindsided chad clifton and teh GB coach tried talkin smack to sapp after the game. a coach needs to be held to a higher standard.
go for AH to step in there a move that pile back.

Hate to break it to you, but that's never going to happen, there's a reason the Falcons AND Raiders, let me repeat that the RAIDERS washed their hands of that problem.

Dude give me a break, let's not act like the Falcon's sideline acted like a bunch of choir boys.

I like when AH comes running in the whole pile of At. players went backwards. The more I watch the clip the more I see the coaches grabbing Hall and hall is not grabbing them. I always thought that as a coach you pull back your players not grab one from the other team.
Is that why Hall kept pushing his way back into the mass of players and coaches?

They didn't they acted like a punk walked onto THEIR sideline and started to talk shit. I realize you all only have a few games worth of the DHall knowledge to work with, but defending him will only make you second guess yourself later on. There's a reason even the RAIDERS didn't want him on their team.. he's a punk.

If you watch the video with your eyes open you'll see that the Landry issue was completely separate from what happened with Hall. Coach Smith defended his players and sideline, the Falcons are not to be messed with. It's really too bad that Hall got his feelings hurt when he was traded to the Raiders but he had no reason to step a foot onto the Falcons sideline.
I just wonder how some of you would be reacting if the situation was reversed. Frankly I love that Smith stands up for his players, maybe if the Skins had any heart they'd do the same. How long exactly did it take for any players to come to Halls aide?

It's funny how the same cast of characters will shred anything that certain players (Hall, Thomas, Portis, Haynesworth, Campbell) do or say REGARDLESS OF THE EVIDENCE! There's a great breakdown done on the DC Sports Bog (D.C. Sports Bog - Inside the DeAngelo Hall sideline melee (http://voices.washingtonpost.com/dcsportsbog/2009/11/inside_the_sideline_melee.html?wprss=dcsportsbog)) that neither implicates nor absolves Hall of wrongdoing but clearly shows that at WORST it's 50/50. If Rogers had done the same exact thing, or even worse, would there be the same outcry? How about McIntosh? Don't give me 'well they wouldn't do something like that anyways' BS either. Some of you guys have such agendas it removes all credibility from your opinions.
