Marty simply isn't interested in coming back in any capacity. He's 66 years old and quite content in retirement. He's been steadfast in saying he's not coming back.

As for Shanahan I've never understood why people are so quick to discredit his success as simply due to Elway. Wasn't he responsible for assembling the team around him? At that point in his career Elway wasn't carrying the team on his back. If anything the success of Terrell Davis is what drove those SB winning teams.

My issues are not with that way of thinking. I actually liked what he did with his offenses, it was his lack of building a defense that bothers me. Blache is getting old and most likely will want to call Bingo also soon. If Shanahan is brought in as HC/president the questions remain who would be GM, and who would take over as DC? I think Shanahan will most likely bring in his son and maybe work to make whatever he was doing in Houston better considering their running is piss poor and not as good as ours right now. Their passing is better but not impressive.

It's possible, probably not likely, but possible that Snyder could suggest to Shanahan that he keep someone like Morocco Brown to stay on as General Manager under Shanahan

Like Floyd Reese? Whatever move Snyder makes it will be big. If he can't make the big move, maybe he just sticks with Zorn...but there are too many big options out there for him not to make a big move

Yes exactly...Reese and GW could be a nice combo.

I don't believe he can bring Vinny and Zorn back and sell all the season tickets.

I decided I would look into the OC's who are on teams with winning records and started with the Saints. I went to their site and pulled up the coach's and clicked on their OC. Wouldn't you know it....he used to be with the Skins back in 2001.

New Orleans Saints - Pete Carmichael Jr (http://www.neworleanssaints.com/Team/Coaches/People/Pete%20Carmichael%20Jr.aspx)

Yeah I think that's been brought up a few times here...it should be noted though that he's like Sherman Smith. Just now been named offensive coordinator and he doesn't really call the plays

These are obviously not all the Co-ordinators out there but I looked at the OC only in case we were going to keep
Jerry Gray and make him our DC. No need to ruffle feathers by bringing in another defensive minded coachm but
if the team is looking to "rebuild" then all Co-ordinators are fair game I guess. That is if they will take the job. I get
the feeling Shanahan will get the job but in case we lose out for some reason I'm looking at who would be a decent
co-ordinator to take the job.

I guess if G.Williams took the job as HC there would be some consistancy on the defensive side and Gray could
still be DC, but GW would have to find a decent OC to fix this mess and give him whoever he needs as coaching
assistants. However I just don't see DS recalling G.Williams back as HC or GW taking the job if offered. I get the
feeling a bridge was burned.

Honestly I would love it if we made Jerry Gray our Head Coach and Hired Chip Kelly as our Offensive Coordinator. Let chip hire his own offensive staff and keep our special team coach.
