What worries me about this game is the fact that the defense, for the third week in a row continues to struggle against the run late in the game.

Did you ever think this may be due to the fact that the offense keeps starting the second half with 3 and outs. The defense is tired. If the offense can stay on the field a little longer the defense will have fresh legs.

If Ramsey starts this game we LOSE. Gibbs knows it and the whole team knows it.Wow. That's a pretty speculative statement. If we're going to start making statements like that, why don't I just go the other way with it, and say that the only thing that kept Mark Brunell from LOSING this game was the defense. Gibbs knows it and the whole team knows it.

And I'd be willing to take it a step further and say that the only thing that's really keeping Mark Brunell in his starting role is a very large contract that is starting to look like a very large cinderblock chained to the collective foot of this team.

Joe Gibbs and the Redskins PR machine would like you to believe otherwise-- going so far as to throw the offensive line under the bus (despite producing a 200+ yard rushing day), and overlooking absolutely horrible passes while claiming the receivers just aren't open, deep or otherwise.

Anyone who's not wearing burgundy and gold glasses (or has otherwise taken them off temporarily to inspect the situation more clearly), bears witness to the fact that Mark Brunell is simply a very bad quarterback at this point in his career, and that his woeful performances are a direct cause of the offensive struggles, not vice-versa.

uhh... brunells lost 4 games and hasn't won either of the other two, so saying if ramsey starts, we lose, is pretty silly... brunell's given up 28 points BY HIMSELF! and he's had 5 TDs and NINE TURNOVERS

not only is he not a rollout type passer, he's not any kind of passer ;)

our offense has given up 53 points off of turnovers at this point, for a vet QB trying to manage an offense, He's Failing.

MB is killing this O. He is hurting the team too much and needs replaced, either of the 2 backups would be a better option right now.

Had the Bears put 9 men in the box and stuffed CP the skins would not have won yesterday. Thank you Bears coaches!

I can't vote for Brunell, because of the TOs. I can't vote for P. Ram, because of his TO ratio. I can't vote for Hasselbeck, because he imho is not an NFL caliber QB.

My dilemma is compounded by the fact that Brunell can manage a clock, when not fumbling!
P. Ram can't manage a clock because he throws ints!
Did I mention what I think of Hasselbeck?

So, rather than vote, I leave it up to HOF Coach Gibbs! Of course, he is in love with Brunell! So, the tie goes to the guy in there. It's just not our call!

Tough vote!

Gee, I never thought of that. I guess the Time Of Possion which was by the way, Redskins 34:01/Bears 25:59 shows that the Redskins had so many 3 and outs that they held the ball 8 minutes longer.

I vote for Brunell. I guess the guys who voted for Ramsey must be hoping that the Ramsey we'll get is not the guy who played against the Giants. I totally agree that Brunell is killing us, but so far when Ramsey got a chance this year he stunk even more than Brunell. I know he might be better than he showed in that game, but no one can say that out of what we've seen this year Ramsey is a better choice than Brunell. I guess maybe if you go by career stats in a Redskin jersey then Ramsey might be a better choice, but I don't think Brunell just suddenly forgot how to play football. I think the entire offense has been out of sync, 6 of 16 third down conversions against the Bears?

I saw all the overthrows, the out of bounds throws, the throws to no one in particular, and the tipped pass that was returned for a touchdown, and the miss on a wide open Coles. I saw it and thought "Brunell sucks" but if he won the job in an open competition in pre-season to switch now because we "think" someone else might be better means that we've become a lot more impatient under Snyder. Let Gibbs work out the kinks, and we all believe that he's going to do it. My guess is that the guys who are calling for Ramsey think that PR can turn the passing game around and lead us to the playoffs. But what has PR shown THIS YEAR to make anyone believe that?

I've still never heard anyone defend Hasselbeck's 0.00 rating in a game last year.

If Hasselbeck gets in the season is really over.

I have been disappointed in Brunell's play as well, but..
Gibbs does not replace Brunnell because Ramsey has not proved on the field that he is ready, period. I think you Ramsey fans have your beer goggles on when you see or talk about Ramsey. Ramsey is not yet as great as you think he is.
Ramsey has a powerful arm and great potential, but he does not think well on his feet. Ramsey gets sacked ALOT, holds on to the ball too long and does not read defenses well. Yes Ramsey throws a great deep ball, but that is about it. You can't live on the deep ball alone, defenses will just take that away and Ramsey will get impatient and start throwing interceptions or get saked, just like he did in the Giants game. I know all of you QB experts think the long ball will solve all of our Offense's problems, it will help but it is not the main problem. The bigger problem (beside the poor QB play) is the inconsistent play of the offensive line. Once the O-line starts blocking with some authority the rest of the offense will play better. Someone earlier in this thread pointed to the Vikings offense as great. The Vikings offensive line is playing like the best in the NFL right now. They have a 3rd or 4th string rookie running back starting right now, and he is running at will. Even with Randy Moss hurt, the Vikings running game is powerful.
