I have a little situation and I wanted to see what my fellow die hard fans would do.....
I have a brother who lives out in California, pretty big 49ers fan. he is in town for a few days and being we live so close to Giants Stadium and the niners play the jets he wants to go to the game....he already recuited my father, who in turn wanted to make it a nice little family bonding and invite me...naturally, I declined, I cringed at the idea of not watching the skins, and had to hear the disappointment in there voices. Then it happened.....the phone call from mom, telling me that it would have been nice to go with them and blah blah blah adn that I can miss one skins game....
Somebody give me some encouraging words to guide me through this delicate situation
:httr:
Family first in my book, I would go to the game.

I feel your pain. I've lost count of how many times I've made my family change their plans for birthday parties and other get-togethers because "I have to watch the Redskins!" They're always a little annoyed that I refuse to sacrifice "one Redskins game" for the sake of family events. Of course, most of the time, my Dad and my brother understand, being that they're both diehard Redskins fans, but my Mom and my sisters always give me a hard time about it.
Don't worry about it, beg8878, sometimes you have to take a stand like that, so that in the future, they'll know better than to involve you in their plans on Redskins gamedays! They'll eventually learn to design their plans around Redskins games-- that's what my family does now.
I know it sounds selfish, but the only thing I ask of my family is to accept my devotion to the Redskins as part of who I am. That means if they want to do something with me on gameday, they'd better make sure there's a TV there with the Redskins game on.

I am fully committed to my Skins. I would miss the game so I could see them play.
If your family loves you, and I'm sure they do, they'll accept your choice. It's not like you're going out to score some hookers.....

Im the same way, It has to be somthing pretty big for me to miss the skins game. If I'm in your position, I'd watch the Skins if thats what you really want to do. I think all the people around me know how much watching the Skins means to me, so they dont really mind when I dont do stuff.... however it does look like I'm gonan miss the GB game to go to NYC for the World Series :(

Wear a redskins jersey underneath some kind of giants jacket. Then proceed to get your entire section into the game. Then you tear off that jacket. I had a friend(tampa bay fan) do this at a skins game. wrong but funny
