I had the chance to meet Holmes last month when he was here promoting the movie. Pretty fun-loving guy. Loud as a mofo though. And a brutally bad singer...but I wasn't about to tell him that.

There will be a mini-marathon of the 30 for 30 movies Thanksgiving Thursday on ESPN starting at 3pm.

And check out The U (about the University of Miami) which premieres on Saturday night after the Heisman Trophy presentation

Most people are probably already aware, but ESPN has decided, based on the success of 30-for-30, to continue making movies, and "Catching Hell" was on last night. It's a documentary on Steve Bartman (it's actually been available for several weeks via On Demand, but for $$). Bartman's story isn't exactly an obscure one, but I still enjoyed it. It was pretty compelling how, through videos taken by others during the game, they documented the pretty frightening rise in tension in the area around Bartman's seats and, even more sharply, outside the stadium as things got worse and worse during the 8th inning of that game. I was surprised that some of the people who were sitting near him, and who reached for the ball as aggressively as Bartman did, agreed to be interviewed, and that they didn't display much of a "that could've easily been me" attitude. I'm guessing ESPN will broadcast it again soon. I think it's worth the watch.

I thought Catching Hell got off to a slow start with a lot of the focus on Buckner. It got better though. Lost a bit of respect for Cubs fans though, who have always been among my favorites

Yeah I really didnt like it last night. I enjoyed the Buckner bit a little more than the Bartman bit. It was ok.

The crowd reaction was appauling. Kept thinking there's just no acceptable reason to react so threatening and violently at a game, especially on one of your own. That was just terrible, but the media is just way over the top these days...and no this is not where i take a shot at ESPN...but the constant over reporting perpetuates this kinda reaction where Bartman has to live in like a solitude.
