If Cerrato can do the same type of job with the O-line this coming off-season, like he did with he D-line last off-season, we good.
Clinton Portis among players who have worn out their welcomejoethiesmanfan 10-30-2009, 11:22 AM If Cerrato can do the same type of job with the O-line this coming off-season, like he did with he D-line last off-season, we good. celts32 10-30-2009, 11:22 AM You can not change the culture of that team with Portis still around. He is to close to ownership...he does and says what he wants...he practices when he wants...he's a terrible example for the other players. To put it simple...he is a team cancer. celts32 10-30-2009, 11:28 AM Now is the best time to move Portis. As 12th Man said earlier in this thread, and Pocket$ has said in other threads...better to move someone a year too early than a year too late Do you really believe Portis has any value in trade? He is one of the highest paid RB's in the league and it's pretty much a known fact that he's lost a step. I can't even see them getting a 7th round pick for him simply because no other team would pay that contract. MTK 10-30-2009, 11:38 AM I know everyone is down on CP, and I do think it's getting close to where we should look to move on from him, with a capable OL I think he can still be a very effective RB. tryfuhl 10-30-2009, 11:43 AM I think you may have Cooley colored glasses on. That's cool. You are a Cooley fan. Nothing wrong with that. But he has his short comings and is responsible for some of the bad play on he field this year. What absolves him from responsibility. Oh I know "Cooley goggles". You deep in the bottle son? tryfuhl 10-30-2009, 11:44 AM You on the other hand seem to have it out for him, for some odd reason I can't seem to figure out nor does it make much sense. . penis envy joethiesmanfan 10-30-2009, 11:47 AM Cherry picking is my point. When I cherry pick a Pro Bowl player like Cooley, that's bad, but when everyone else cherry picks a Pro Bowl player like Portis, that's good. Ung Munga !!!! That's my point I am making while having fun playing devil's advocate. Fact of the matter is, Portis is way more valuable to this team than Cooley. He has produced on a level as a RB that no TE can match on any team. Stop with the get rid of Moss and Portis. They are the Redskins plus Cooley on offense. Why punish them because we have no second option to releieve Portis, or a second receiver to take doubles off of Moss? Well actually we do have a second option at WR finally, but Zorn don't know what he doing. joethiesmanfan 10-30-2009, 12:05 PM MattyK72 I want to place a bet with you. If the Redskins win the next 3 games, which they will, then you give me the ability to post? How about it? I want to post in the non-football category. I want to truly explore Trample the Elderly's philosophical dichotemy. Tryfuhl, glad you made your comments. Is it me or did Cooley look like a straight fruit cake while being carted off the field with his bright blonde hair do? LOL!!! Longtimefan 10-30-2009, 12:05 PM I don't completely agree with the article (The CP part) but here it is: Chiefs' Johnson, others have worn out welcome - NFL - Yahoo! Sports (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=cr-wornoutwelcomes102909&prov=yhoo&type=lgns) I think Portis has lost a step but I think he'd be doing a lot better if we had a better oline. I believe that the way the oline is playing makes him look worst than he really is. Because of the reasons expressed it's difficult to guage how much more effective he would be if circumstances were different. The one thing that has tarnished Clinton's reputation more so than his production/or lack thereof is the fact he somehow continues to open himself up to controversy, brightning the spotlight and fueling more and more negative publicity. He still has value, but probably would be more effective in a reduced role. tryfuhl 10-30-2009, 12:06 PM MattyK72 I want to place a bet with you.
