How does switching D's effect Big Al's play? What did they play in Tenn?

Call me traditional, but I've always been a fan of the 4-3. It has worked well for us, not to mention the Giants and Eagles, who also play a 4-3. NFC East football is about running the football on offense, and stopping the run on D. We need to get back to winning games in the trenches, the way Gibbs 1.0 won Super Bowls.Well, the importance of play from the defensive front seven is the same no matter what you play, but 3-4 overemphasizes LB play, while 4-3 does the same for the DL. Right now, our DL is far beyond where our LBs are, so a 4-3 system is best. All it takes though, is an exchange of Carter, for say, Shawne Merriman (just an example), and this becomes a perfect 3-4 unit.

This thread essentially gives too much credit to Vinny and Snyder for being smart enough to plan the switch. If anything turns out good for the Redskins, it's because of sheer luck, not by any planning on the part of Cerrato and Snyder.
