GusFrerotte 10-24-2009, 01:04 AM My thoughts exactly. D keeps us in it, offense looks terrible as usual.
I am benching McNabb on my fantasy team for Matt Ryan. Ryan was my starter, but I had to plug in McNabb against the Raiders. Who would have thunk it!!!!! Skins 3rd against the pass, so no blowouts. I do hope Maclin scores at least once. I had to pick him up as a bye week WR.
GMScud 10-24-2009, 01:04 AM Does any one know how many teams relay plays in? I am of the uninformed belief that maybe as many as ten do. But it seems to be a huge concern to many on the site. If a call player knows his plan and can think one to two steps ahead (zorn's problem, and the cause of many of our delays) I would not think we will see any issues that way.
I think many playcallers use a measurement opportunity to plan 2 or 3 plays, zorn was clear he didn't use it to plan any. I will be glad Tuesday to start seeing threads with titles like "Lewis should be our OC" or "Our offense does have a clue" and going into the bye week on a positive note after all this negativity
I have no idea how many teams relay plays, but our situation is not a good one. For the last 22 games Zorn has called the plays into JC's ear. Now we have one Sherman talking to the other Sherman who then relays the call to JC. A big change. We've had enough time management issues as is. JC was right this week in saying he'll have a play or two in his head in case the call doesn't get there in time.
Sadly, I predict that the offense lays an egg similar to last week, but this time in front of a national audience. How can it improve this week? I just don't see it. Not against a far superior divisional opponent.

We will certainly see on Monday, but I think the time management, and delays were caused by Zorn's methodology. If I understand right, and I really don't know, Zorn waited for a play to end to get the situation for the next play. So in 45 or 30 seconds he had to find the position of the ball get a precise down and distance and then look for the "perfect" play. There were no 2 plays in at a time, or case 1/case 2 scenarios. Thus any wrinkle caused a delay. I hope Lewis is looking ahead, and therefore he can give Smith the play quicker than Zorn could.
Thats my hope and expectation.
skins89moss 10-25-2009, 03:56 AM It's only going to get worse now that we're starting to play teams that have actually won games.
Eagles 27
Skins 6
Wow are you going to watch the game then?
skins89moss 10-25-2009, 04:22 AM Well the national media and the majority of Redskin fans believe that the Skins will lose big. This is a situation for the players have to be saying its us against the world and no one expects us to win but us. I say the Redskins find away to score enough and hold Philly's offense under 17 points. Redskins 20-13
Kaisersozaa 10-25-2009, 08:24 AM Pride is what our players have. I hope! A good Defence, a knack for playing well against Philly, and maybe a bingo caller calling in plays could just spark an offense to turn a corner. The skins have the personel mostly to be contenders. Our O-line is not great, and the team in general is old, but pride, experience, and being pissed off at the world may get us a win. Skins 24-17. Either way, I believe its going to be ugly at times, for both teams.
redskin37 10-25-2009, 08:35 AM BINGO, 5 scores eagles 21 redskins 6
Zorny 10-25-2009, 10:40 AM It will be a close, boring and sloppy game with the Eagles edging the skins at the very end. 14-13.
44Deezel 10-25-2009, 12:43 PM For the people picking the Skins to lose, I see a lot of 30+ point predictions for the Eagles. Remember we still have a good defense.
How hard is it to look good against the Rams, Lions, Panthers, Bucs and Chiefs? Let's see what the D is ranked at the end of the season. I love the Skins, but I also don't live in a Fantasy world. Eagles in a rout - 28-10.
dblanch66 10-25-2009, 01:33 PM Sounds like a lot of preemptive damage control with all the lopsided blowout scores and ugly game descriptions. As fan base we have been beaten to the point where we are anticipating disappointment. Rightly so, I guess but I have a weird feeling the boys just might make this one interesting. I'm feeling a pretty good game here with the Skins pulling one out of their collective sore asses. 24-21 Redskins.
