Zorn's certainly not stupid (he probably knows what a homonym is for one thing), in over his head-perhaps? Stupid? No

What's interesting is that he's basically been put completely out of the loop so what happens if we lose badly on Monday? Is he going to just be like "Well, I had nothing to do with this. So you can't get rid of me now."

Another thing that isn't unique? The situation itself. In fact, Smith himself has gone through it before -- not without some bumps along the way.
