"but they went to the point of pulling out his contract and saying, 'You have got to do whatever the owner tells you to do.' ...
This organization is out of control. It is amazing that as good a business man Snyder is, he can't see that this thing is spiraling beyond repair. Six head coaches and as many offensive schemes in ten years. All the big names, but never a solid plan for the future...now we have got to the point where the Bingo guy is calling the plays after being on board for two weeks...what a joke this franchise has become. I wouldn't be surprised if the players just quit on Monday night, and the stadium is empty by half time.
I'm almost embarrased to admit I'm a fan these days, and I honestly thought I would never say that.
I almost feel the same way. This morning I went to put on a Redskins pullover because it is getting chilly outside and I hesitated. If I had something else that was clean, long sleeve, and not Redskins related, I would be wearing it right now. Technically I should be wearing a shirt and tie, but I haven't felt like dressing up lately.

I was thinking of that too, wondering who "they" were in that situation? Either way it sounds bad. Reminded me of what Larry Michael's said about Vinny, he has "zero" ability to build relationships w/people.
Name one thing that Dan Snyder should have learned from Gibbs 2.0?
Always fight your guts out!

How to motivate men. How to lead men. How to empower assistants/subordinates and put them in a position to succeed.
Slingin Sammy 33 10-21-2009, 06:33 PM Hint: Gibbs was Danny's butt boy too. He didn't run things much more than Zorn does. Far too deferential.Gibbs was deferential to Williams and Saunders. He entrusted the D to Williams and the O to Saunders. Both turned out to be poor talent evaluators and it cost the franchise dearly(Lloyd, ARE, Arch).
Longtimefan 10-21-2009, 06:34 PM It's only natural for Largent to come to the aid of his long time friend and teammate. I wouldn't expect him to say anything different.
WaldSkins 10-21-2009, 06:34 PM Always fight your guts out!
That's almost as famous as Jim Zorn saying the offense is "close"
Slingin Sammy 33 10-21-2009, 06:38 PM Largent and Zorn have been good friends for 30 years, what else was he going to say. No problem with Largent defending Zorn, but he may want to look at some game tape before absolving Zorn of all blame for this mess.
SFREDSKIN 10-21-2009, 06:43 PM We should read the part that is bolded out:
Among Largent's comments earlier in the day to KJR radio in Seattle:
-- "I don't know what a 'Dan Snyder coach' looks like, and I don't think Dan Snyder knows what a 'Dan Snyder coach' looks like. And that's fairly obvious now ahat he's been through about six head coaches in 10 years."
-- "The problem is Jim was hired as an offensive coordinator, by the way, not as a head coach, and then promoted to head coach the same offseason. And yet the coaching position that Jim was given, he was told who his coaches were going to be, he was told who his players were going to be. He didn't have any opportunities to go and seek and find players or coaches that he wanted to fill out on the team - with a couple of exceptions. He hired Sherman Smith and Stump Mitchell, those are the only two guys he hired when he came in his first year. He inherited everything he has to work with today, yet all the blame is being laid at his feet because he can't make them a Super Bowl champion. I could've told you two years ago, they don't have a Super Bowl-quality team. It doesn't matter how good a coach you are; you're not going to get there with the players the owners gives you."
-- "The formula that the Redskin owner and the Redskin general manager have for producing a winner on the field is not a winning formula, meaning they can't make all the decisions on the coaches and on the personnel and then just hire some guy from off the street to be head coach and win with what they put on the field. It doesn't work and that's been proven for 10 years in a row. And they had Joe Gibbs in here, a guy who went to many Super Bowls and he couldn't do it with the formula they gave him."
-- "The failure of the Redskins is not about Jim Zorn; the faiure of the Redskins starts above him, above his level. I tell you,

Well he also brought in Chris Meidt and Scott Wachenheim. And he was around for the last two off-seasons. And if not for his insistence, it's not likely Campbell would have been our starter this year. Other coaches have won with talent they didn't bring in so Zorn shouldn't be absolved of any blame here.
