Agreed. I would add the necessity to coach our young players better. If the young ones that we do have on the OL and in receivers were developed into competence, our offense could be pretty good. Instead it seems like the rookies don't develop. It is not enough to draft 'em - you must train them, too.

An excellent point Lotus. The one group that may get a slight pass here is the oline because I don't believe Buges has been given squat to work with. But the development elsewhere is next to nothing.

...one thing I'm not sure too many people know is Saunders did the most to develop Cooley (Cooley has talked about it). Of course the TE position was always integral to Saunders scheme so it makes sense, and Cooley said they just watched tons of video of TE greats. So basically the only coach to have developed an offensive player since...I can remember when...was canned as soon as Snyder/Vinny got the opportunity. These guys are just too smart.

This season should be thrown in a trash heap along with every Jason Taylor, Adam Archuletta, Jeff George, and Deion Sanders jersey.

Snyder!!! I hate your guts!!! Thanks for ruining my childhood team, pissant!

I'm beginning to think the reason we go after all of these big-name free-agents is because the front office does not know how to properly draft players, so they compensate by going out and getting players that were once proven at the position. This problem is couched in the fact that we do not have a proper General Manager, thus when we do draft players its like throwing darts in the dark, sometimes you find gems like Chris Horton or Marko Mitchell, but you get a lot of busts, like Devin Thomas or Rod Gardner or Taylor Jacobs.
Also why we don't often handle FA well, "oh he's a receiver" or "he's a safety" while completely misusing the player. We tried to make Arch a cover safety, etc.. our team sees positions, not schemes... too much oh he's a lineman, he can play any line position.. he's a linebacker, we only use 3, he should be able to handle any of those spots just fine, etc

nana na na, nana na na,

hey, hey, hey

goooodbye.

seasons done folks. Sorry your reality came so late after holding out so much hope. Glad you could join the few folks whose reality already was brought to them. By the way....do we play the Titans this yr? hate to not add all the teams with losing records getting a chance to beat us.

Welcome to the Club, I joined it after we lost to Detroit.

I am so sick of this myth that I could throw up whenever I hear it mentioned. How could we possibly play down to anyone? We are the definition of a bottom feeder. We are not being upset week after week by lesser teams. We are getting beaten by teams who are better than we are. That's why they play the games - to find out which team is better.

Detroit is better than we are. Carolina is better than we are. KC is better than we are. And every one of those teams is absolutely terrible. What does that make us?

The Redskins have just gone through a five game stretch that just might represent the easiest schedule in the history of the NFL, and we only won two of those games! I've been a Skins fan for over fifty years and, to tell you the sad truth, this is the worst offense I have ever seen on a Redskins team.

So that's where we stand. We have a good defense and, to go with it, we have the absolute worst offense I have ever seen on a Redskins team. Put the two together and we are a bottom dwelling team. We do not play down to the competition because there is no down from where we live. We live in the same level of the food chain as St. Louis, Detroit, Tampa Bay, Carolina, and Kansas City.

I guess the truth hurts because most of the fans were lead to believe we had a playoff team based on our so called talented roster.

Great thread and i totally agree with your scenarios goat. I shouldnt say this but if we do get blown out for the rest of the year then we can go into to rebuilding mode which i think will be better long term. Even if we do keep zorn for what ever reason at least let him pick his own staff. I think that is why not much has changed since gibbs left. Its still the same shitty offense, just shittier.

Also I really think our WR's need to step up. I am starting to think its more their fault then the qb's and yes i know our o line isnt good but its not insanely bad either. It just seems like our wide recievers dont play hard... thier always jogging around.i mean we cant even execute basic plays. I really think randel el had a shot at that fade too after the portis run, he just didnt make much of an attempt at the ball. sorry im just ranting here but its really just pathetic how bad our offense is...
