It's quite obvious DS does not support Zorn. Hell he was close to canning him last year if it weren't for the late season Philly win. So to expect an endorsement now is unrealistic.

We see only part of what he is supposed to do on Sundays and hear a little bit about the behind the secens but we don't know nearly enough to really make a good case whether he is any good or not. DS does....if he had questions last year, after only one season on the job, then it should have been addressed then. DS knows what he thinks of Zorn and he needs to decide whether he wants to gvie him a chance to grow some and become or good or not. It doesn't seem like that hard of a decision to me. Letting everything be so up in the air though is the worst thing he could be doing. This is what makes everyone dislike DS more than anything. The perception that he makes football decisions through petulance and emotions and not using some sound strategy involving logic and long-term planning. 53Fan 10-15-2009, 11:32 AM The problem, of course, is that the mediots that want to attack Snyder no matter what he does, would turn the public statement of support into the "Kiss of Death". The other problem is how do you support a coach who can't send in two plays and tell the qb use the one that fits. This is a no win situation for a lot of people associated with the Skins. I think that the best thing this team - from DS down to every player - can do is play the games, shut up and ignore the media, and try to right the ship. The same way you hire a QB coach to be your HC. Just do it. I bet you there is as much talk about what's going to happen with Zorn among the players as there is about our next opponent. The FO office knew they were hiring someone who was going to have to learn on the job. JC said him and the players he was eating with were talking about how they need to keep Zorn encouraged. Shouldn't they be thinking about KC? Either make the change or endorse him for the rest of the year. I think this would help them do what you suggest. It may be too late to do what they should have done the 3rd week of the season though. This is turning into a soap opera. What if rather than a true public endorsement (which I guarantee the media would make fun of). He "let it be known" through a solid back source like Schefter that Zorn was here for the year. Would that fit the bill? 53Fan 10-15-2009, 12:54 PM What if rather than a true public endorsement (which I guarantee the media would make fun of). He "let it be known" through a solid back source like Schefter that Zorn was here for the year. Would that fit the bill? :laughing- That seems to be how we get most of our news anyway. WTH not? In fact, as you mentioned about the media calling it the "Kiss of death" if Snyder came out and said it publicly, it might even be better for them to do it that way. I would just hope the players buy into it and start putting all their thoughts into winning the next game. Lotus 10-15-2009, 01:08 PM It's quite obvious DS does not support Zorn. He's here until the "bye bye" week. |
