Trade Deadline Approaching; Any Moves?SFREDSKIN 10-20-2009, 03:37 PM NFL.com Blogs » Blog Archive Eagles, Pats and Ravens among buyers at deadline « (http://blogs.nfl.com/2009/10/20/eagles-pats-and-ravens-among-buyers-at-trade-deadline/) franklinhimself 10-20-2009, 03:37 PM Our FO should be in serious shop mode, but we all know that's just too intelligent. CRedskinsRule 10-20-2009, 03:43 PM Our FO should be in serious shop mode, but we all know that's just too intelligent. and if they were in serious "shop mode", half the fans would be criticizing Snyder for buying when we don't know who the coach will be. I may sound like a Snyder apologist, I am probably closer than most on this board, but what fries me, is no matter what move is made easily a third of this board and 90% of the mediots are going to be criticizing him for the action or inaction. KLHJ2 10-20-2009, 03:47 PM Considering that the trade deadline has past all there is to do right now is wait and see what happens this offseason. I just hope that there will be something to cheer about between now and then. skinsfan_nn 10-20-2009, 03:55 PM Considering that the trade deadline has past all there is to do right now is wait and see what happens this offseason. I just hope that there will be something to cheer about between now and then. Trade deadline is 4:00 ET and is not complete as of now. « Patriots release veteran WR Galloway (http://blogs.nfl.com/2009/10/20/patriots-release-veteran-wr-galloway/) Week 7 preview (http://blogs.nfl.com/2009/10/20/week-7-preview/) » Jason La Canfora (http://blogs.nfl.com/category/jason-la-canfora/) Eagles, Pats and Ravens among buyers at deadline (http://blogs.nfl.com/2009/10/20/eagles-pats-and-ravens-among-buyers-at-trade-deadline/) Posted: October 20th, 2009 | Jason La Canfora | Tags: Corey Williams (http://blogs.nfl.com/tag/corey-williams/), Glenn Dorsey (http://blogs.nfl.com/tag/glenn-dorsey/), Josh Cribbs (http://blogs.nfl.com/tag/josh-cribbs/), O.J. Atogwe (http://blogs.nfl.com/tag/o-j-atogwe/), Steven Jackson (http://blogs.nfl.com/tag/steven-jackson/), Terrell Owens (http://blogs.nfl.com/tag/terrell-owens/), Trade deadline (http://blogs.nfl.com/tag/trade-deadline/) After spending the better part of 24 hours texting, e-mailing and calling people around the league, my enthusiasm for an unusually active trade deadline is waning. It just doesn’t seem like there is a whole lot cooking. A lot of talk but not much action, which is the norm. There will be a few deals for sure, and there’s always a surprise out there, but I’m not sure it’s going to be blockbuster city. (Not that I ever was, but you’re always hoping for interesting stories and developments, and who doesn’t like trade talk?) Anyway, the Eagles, Patriots and Ravens are among the teams looking to be buyers, while the Chiefs, Bucs and Raiders are among those most interested in selling. After the season-ending injury (http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=09000d5d8138ba07&template=with-video-with-comments&confirm=true) to NT Kris Jenkins, the high-spending Jets are looking at options, and I’d rate Chiefs DT Glenn Dorsey as someone who they have at least a slim chance of acquiring. While Cleveland DE Corey Williams is generating some interest, the Browns continue to rebuff all overtures for Josh Cribbs (and the calls have continued to come). The Rams have received calls on RB Steven Jackson but are adamant about not trading him, according to a league source. But franchise-tender safety O.J. Atogwe might be worth an interested team making a call on. As I reported Sunday morning on “NFL GameDay Morning,” the Bills are steadfast that they have no interest in trading WR Terrell Owens. As of Monday, only one team had called, with only cursory interest (the club called Buffalo about another player and then inquired briefly about Owens’ availability at the end of the call, according to a source). But, we’ll see. Still a few hours to go, and maybe we get something meaty before the 4 p.m. ET deadline. KLHJ2 10-20-2009, 04:32 PM I stand corrected let me rephrase. uhum (clearing my throat) The trade deadline is just about up and I doubt that we will be active. All there is to do right now is wait and see what happens this offseason. I just hope that there will be something to cheer about between now and then. SC Skins Fan 10-20-2009, 04:36 PM If the Jets miss on Rodgers and Dorsey, any chance they would be interested in Anthony Montgomery as a nose? Would seem like a good match all around. Apologies if that was mentioned earlier in the thread. redsk1 10-20-2009, 04:40 PM If the Jets miss on Rodgers and Dorsey, any chance they would be interested in Anthony Montgomery as a nose? Would seem like a good match all around. Apologies if that was mentioned earlier in the thread. I was thinking the same thing. We need some picks. tryfuhl 10-20-2009, 06:50 PM If the Jets miss on Rodgers and Dorsey, any chance they would be interested in Anthony Montgomery as a nose? Would seem like a good match all around. Apologies if that was mentioned earlier in the thread. Probably not as an NT but it's already passed so not sure why I replied Lotus 10-20-2009, 07:45 PM I for one am glad that the trade deadline has passed without our mortgaging more of our future. Perhaps Vinny has spent his last Redskins draft pick. |
