I wouldn't be upset w/ Gruden. I would be upset if VC stays. As long as we have the current FO setup here we'll be average. We been average for 10 years. We've employed coaches of all different stripes but they had one thing in common, they had average teams.

Wow, even then Snyder won't take the hint...TAKE YOUR HANDS OFF THIS TEAM. Constrain yourself to just jacking up the parking prices at Fedex but at least let someone who knows football make the major football decisions.
When coaches like Bill Cowher and Mike Holmgren who have built championship teams from the ground up say they don't want to work here because of the freaking front office structure?!?! What does that say...that means they are probably okay with the players for the most part but the ownership is what is putting them off. GDit Snyder, back the hell off...

^ Well it goes back to will DS see the reason a lot of HC's don't want the job is because of Vinny. Some don't want the head ache called DS. There's no way around us getting rid of DS, he owns the team so no matter what he's here to stay. The Redskins are a money making machine so he's happy pocket wise, but the real issue is will DS see that his "little buddy" is now starting to limit his HC prospects and will he pull the trigger and either move him to another job with no say in player personell or will he fire him in order to have access to other prospects? These are interesting times. If you had a business and the manager was driving away employee's (ie; players and coach's) and customers (ie; fans) then what would you do? If you knew that by letting him go and bringing in someone else more qualified would help your organization and bring you more profit what choice would you make? I think it's funny that between fans, media, and prospect HC's not liking him and not wanting him here, DS keeps him so close to his side.
Me personally, I would move Vinny to a more paper pushing roll maybe have him in charge of contracts or something, maybe the welcome wagon, but If Gruden was on my top list as a HC then Holmgren would be my choice to be GM cause they know each other and have worked together before. Holmgren being the "kinder gentler" type and Gruden being the ball buster HC. Plus it wouldn't be much of a jump other then Gruden learning the play calls over the 2 week break and tweeking the offense a little. Then next yr draft O-lineman in the 1st and 2nd round. LT and RT. Make the rest either back ups or Guards. I would take a bigger Center in a late round unless the kid from Maryland we picked up is decent enough.

Problem is the fans. If we are truly upset with ownership, why do we keep buying the product? Boycott.
I'm a big fan of Gruden, he's a great motivator, he loves to run the ball, he's a true student of the game, and he would be a good transition from Zorn to his WC based offense. However, to state the obvious something needs to change upstairs to have any lasting impact from who is coaching the team. Until then, who cares.

I've been in boycott mode for the last 3-4 yrs. I don't have season ticket so thats a no brainer. I want to buy a new hat so bad or a Jersey but I am not until this whole mess is fixed and the Skins are a respectable team again, not a team that people circle on their calender every year cause they count it as a win.
I'm leaning toward picking up a Capitals Jersey. I know they have been having their fair share of problems winning games but you can honestly say they look good for the most part and have gone the "Rebuild" mode already and are on the upswing. Plus 2-3 losses don't matter when you playing 80 something games.
Hopefully the Nats will do something with their 1st round pick.
and hopefully the Wizards will atleast show up in their games this yr with a new HC and Scheme.

Short answer:
Vinny ain't gonna get fired here.
Until and unless Vinny is convicted of a felony and suspended by the NFL Commish, he and Danny Boy will stay tight.

Maybe those who have already paid for their season tickets and are not going to sit at home for one game cause they paid for it could find something to do as a small sign of protest. Maybe wear brown paper bags over their heads for a quarter. That may not be feasable but you catch my drift. Take signs that say fire Vinny or something. I have to imagine that the media will pick up on it and show it all over ESPN or the news papers and drive DS crazy.
Maybe purchase "Chucky" dolls and wave them at the next game. ;)
I'm doing my part. I haven't been to a Redskins....home game in 10 years. What the hell is wrong with the rest of you?
I just heard on ESPN 980 (in DC) that John Gruden appears to be the front runner for the Skins new Head Coach. They are referring to as it is a done deal. That must make JZ feel...GOOD

LOL. Then maybe we need the same people who ran the sting against Marion Barry to assist. :)
