Report: Snyder has made two bids for Shanahan
It’s never too early to start speculating about the coaching carousel, and John Czarnecki of FoxSports.com reports that Washington Redskins owner Daniel Snyder has reached out to Mike Shanahan now—twice.
Czarnecki reports that Snyder made a play for Shanahan during the offseason, and has gone after the two-time Super Bowl winner again during this season. Both times he's been rebuffed.
I guess his relationship with Cerrato isn't enough to overcome the little voice in Shanahan's ear that tells him coaching for Snyder is career suicide. Cowher has also allegedly rebuffed Snyder several times. Dungy essentially made fun of Snyder on the air last week. So now, of the big names available in the offseason, we're left with Gruden and Holmgren. I think Holmgrens smart enough to reject any offer Snyder makes, so that leaves us with Gruden. If even Gruden won't work here, then we're left with hiring dumb 3rd or 4th tier assistant coaches and repeating the disaster we made with Zorn. When will the madness end?

Money talks! Don't rule him out.

Well, to contradict my post, Jay Glazer, on the Fox pregame show, said he predicted Sherm Lewis could be hired last week and it happened. He also reported that, despite Snyder's denial, Snyder personally flew to Denver to see Shanahan after the loss to Detroit and Glazer is confident Shanahan will be named interim HC sometime during the season. However, due to the Rooney rule, he can't be named permanent HC until a minority candidate is interviewed

Too early to write Shanahan off. He's probably waiting to see what Jerry offers.
Holmgren is still an option though I think he wants us more than we want him
Gruden has said he's not interested in coaching the Skins...but it's only October
If Shanahan wants to be in charge of personnel I'm more than happy with him not being here. Interestingly though, if we do hire him we may be hiring his successor as well because it's almost a lock that he will bring his son here to be assistant head coach/offensive coordinator

I've said many, many times here that no great coach will work for Dan Snyder anytime soon, unless the huge payday lures Shanahan since he's always been such a money guy. Well it looks as if Shanahan is finally wealthy enough he won't do it for money.

The best thing for the team is for all the big name coaches decline Snyder's offers for organization structure issues and force him to rebuild the team right. But money does talk so that might not work like i want it too.

I would have to be convinced that any of the coaches mentioned will make a difference here until changes are made.
Ask yourself (money aside) how many coaches, that want to keep their reputation in tact would want to come here and work for this administration under the current set of circumstances?

Im pretty sure that Cerrato would be fired if Snyder were to lure any high profile coach on here.

You're right that why i said since Snyder has such a hard-on for big name coaches he would possibly give who ever power to rebuild the team to there liking, if he wants them so bad.
