Naturally, I have no idea what DanFinger believes but....HOW can a man as bright as he is (self made Billionaire) not realize that VC may be All that as a GM, and worst case scenario may the Anti-GM? Hard to get a hold of.
I REALLY would like to proceed with an AssKickin' GM and let him do the coach selection work, albeit...swiftly

Well part of it is just a matter who you get along with, happens all over the place, and Snyder and VC get along. Another, bigger, part of it is that even though VC has been around for the last decade for the most part it's only been the last two years that he had the final authority that he has now. And I know what you're thinking, if he's going to be patient with Cerrato why not Zorn? I don't know the answer. I do still suspect though that he (Cerrato) sooner than later won't have quite the input he does now. Again, unless someone like Jerry Gray becomes our full time head coach...and that would be a stunner.

Perhaps....Dan can learn to love another?
I fear with Vinnie still in place, regardless of the other changes made-long term, it's just more of the same

An unsettling statement to be sure! Cerrato's presence means Snyder continues to have a heavy hand in personnel, and if Vinny loses sway within the franchise then won't Snyder just dominate personnel decisions completely? I guess w/ Gruden's hands off approach to personnel it means Snyder would be free to do things his own way completely.

I like Gruden. Like SS said he'd at least inspire the players. He won in Oakland for christ's sake.

In the end, however, whether or not the next HC demands a change in the FO, I do.

Interesting news:

Rick Snider ยป Sources: Gruden atop Snyder's wish list | Washington Examiner (http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/sports/Sources_-Gruden-atop-Snyder_s-wish-list-8371348-64019622.html)

That article is dated October 13th 2009, so if the Washington Examiner is using time travel to write their stories I'm going with them.

If it's a typo then they lose all credibility and should be ignored.

D.Snyder wont be fired or should he. He does everything he can to win and thats open his wallet without dispair. If only he would let go of his JERRY JONES book "How To Run A Football Team" now with that said. V.Cerrato is the main problem he is not good at what ever he does which he has proven now for some years now.

I hope that M.Shanahan does not get the job. I like Holmgren as a G.M and CHUCKY as our Head Coach especially if he brings his own guys in, and not have them already there waiting as we have seen with Coach Zorn. Shoot even Holmgren and Zorn would work and I just WANT Cerrato out.

Shannahan seems to have a mixed record with his draft picks. Usually they're either really good or they can't make it in the league (Maurice Clarette). He seems to be able to develop quality offensive lines which is a huge plus for me. His ability though to develop late round running backs seemed to fall off a little near the end of his tenure with Denver.

I will say he's done a great job drafting LB's (Al Wilson, Ian Gold, and DJ Williams). He's also found a few good recievers (Rod Smith, Ed Mcaffery, Brandon Marshall, Eddie Royal, Tony Scheftler).

QB's always seemed to do well under Shannahan or at least over achieve. Greise, Plummer, and Cutler all seemed to have their best years under Shannahan.

The thing he absolutley seems to suck at is finding D-lineman (Javaris Moss). In fact I remember for the last few years the Bronco's were constantly looking for D-lineman to help fix their defense. Of course if he comes here that will have been taken care of.

That's what Mort thinks will happen...though not with the Redskins

He was? They're average. At best. And those championship Redskins teams were built by Bobby Beathard. Aside from a few savvy free agent pickups, Casserlyy couldn't draft worth a toot.

Not to knock Beathard down, because he is one of the better executives the leagues has seen in the last 30 years, but he had some brutal draft picks that we'd ripping left and right if this site was around back then
