With the current front office structure? If so, it makes no difference.

Unless someone like Jerry Gray suddenly becomes our permanent (and not just interim) head coach then any new head coach hired will also result in a change in the front office structure.

Will Cerrato still be part of the front office? Yeah probably. Will he have final authority? Seriously doubt it. Snyder sees Zorn's failure as Cerrato's failure as well. But he also likes Cerrato and will probably want assurances from whomever steps in that Cerrato is still part of the organization, even if it means he just sits around and makes photocopies of scouting reports.

Vinny would find a way to trade 3 of this year's photocopied reports and 2 of next year's for Jay Cutler's tissue bill.

is he crazy enough to worth with snyder and cerrato? no right? this is where coaches come to ruin their good names- i am almost at the point that i'm not sure we want any coach that is dumb enough to take our job.

Great...someone who prides friendship as factors they want in their front office. Man...I thought Snyder was a hardcore business man but he just looks like he wants to make friends and influence people.

What ever happened to not mixing business with pleasure? Snyder is a fraud.

Actually in most cases that is the best way to do business. They have seminars on it.

Does anyone get the sense that Snyder runs this team kinda like a 10 year old buying and trading his baseball cards?

Shanahan isn't the answer! The 'Skins will be the same no matter who the head coach is. Change players, not coaches...Although some of the coaches need to go, too.

So how many more games do we have to lose for everyone here to say that the seasons over?

Report: Snyder has made two bids for Shanahan | National Football Post (http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/Report-Snyder-has-made-two-bids-for-Shanahan.html)

I guess his relationship with Cerrato isn't enough to overcome the little voice in Shanahan's ear that tells him coaching for Snyder is career suicide. Cowher has also allegedly rebuffed Snyder several times. Dungy essentially made fun of Snyder on the air last week. So now, of the big names available in the offseason, we're left with Gruden and Holmgren. I think Holmgrens smart enough to reject any offer Snyder makes, so that leaves us with Gruden. If even Gruden won't work here, then we're left with hiring dumb 3rd or 4th tier assistant coaches and repeating the disaster we made with Zorn. When will the madness end?

It won't until Snyder sells.

Which is why I would prefer M.Schottenheimer as GM, move Cerrato to a more executive/player contract roll, bring in B.Schottenheimer as HC from the Jets, and allow him to assemble his own Asst. Coach's, pray for an uncapped yr so we can dump all the big contracts and try to replace some of the older guys especially O-line, pick up a couple more younger guys for the D-line. Pick up a couple more LB's. Dump Betts, Cartwright, and evaluate Portis as keeping or trade bait or simply cut(with no CAP).

Give total football control to M.Schottenheimer, DS just simply write the checks and enjoy the game.

I like your ideas. A lot. I still doubt Snyder will ever turn the team over to anyone, regardless of how proven they are or how big their reputation is. My guess is Cerrato is still here a year from now, two years from now, because it allows the tiny man to play he de facto GM game he likes so much. He'll continue to burn through coaches and players, but it makes exactly no difference who those people are because the shit show will always be the same.
