I figure the Laid Back King of Chill would have a good recipe, so I follow his:

Jimmy Buffett's Perfect Margarita

Crushed ice
3 wedges lime
2 ounces gold tequila (Cuervo 1800)
1/2 ounce tequila (Cuervo white)
1 1/4 ounces Rose's Lime Juice
1/2 ounce triple sec (Bols)
1 splash orange Curacao (Bols)

Put all ingredients except the 3 lime wedges into a shaker. Squeeze 2 of the lime wedges into the shaker. SHAKE WELL! Rim outside of glass only with lime. Salt only the outside of the glass. Add fresh crushed ice to glass. Strain mixture over ice. Squeeze remaining lime wedge in glass.

Nope. Don't give a damn who he is, no man should make a margarita with Rose's lime. It's bitter, gross, and doesn't even really taste like lime. IMO the only way to add lime juice to a margarita is to muddle fresh limes. Any gimlet or margarita will take a big step up in quality if freshly muddled limes are substituted for Rose's "lime" juice.

A good cocktail is all about the freshness of the ingredients.

MEL GIBSON WALLACE "BRAVEHEART" MOVIE Cardboard CUTOUT - eBay (item 270571568691 end time May-09-10 11:05:54 PDT) (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270571568691&ssPageName=ADME:B:BCA:US:1123)

I ordered this hammered on e-bay the other night...cause I thought it looked pretty freakin sweet. However, I failed to read the description, that says that it's only 14 inches tall.

I'm still content with my purchase....

now back to studying for my 8:00am final tomorrow. Dagger.

Still procrastinating... but yeah... the fresh shit is where it's at.

Plus it's really not that hard to squeeze a lime into something vs. buying the rose's crap. Even having the little lime shaped juice squeeze thing in the frig is a better way to go.

The less artificial sugar shit in any drink the better.

I'm a big fan of some fresh lime juice in a "Hendricks" gin and tonic.

It should be fun. We're not doing Vegas or anything crazy. Just me and my closest friends heading up to Baltimore for the O's game, and then to some bars/strip clubs afterwards. I've never been a strip club guy (I think they're pretty gross actually), but the bachelor party is about what your boys want, not what the groom wants. Only one of the guys in our group other than me is in a serious relationship, so they are all pumped for some T&A.

My fiancee is so awesome. She said, "have fun and do whatever you want. But you're taking a shower as soon as you walk in the door tomorrow tonight." LOL.
lol that's great

Matty- the trick is, instead of using rose's lime or any other store bought pre-made lime juices, muddle fresh lime wedges. It's SOOO much better. Also, a dash of OJ before you shake the margarita is key. Give it a try and let me know. Cheers!!
you do the OJ even with cointreau? I've never done that but I've had it with orange bitters in it and that's DAMN good.. I had kind of forgotten about trying it that way until you mentioned the OJ

I haven't but I'm buying what you're selling. Wish it was 7pm right about now rather than 2pm. Sigh.
can't say I've ever tried one mixed with Cointreau AND floated with gran marnier

stroooong, might be overkill

I was somewhat following until the Rose's.. why not just add a lil simple syrup?

lol I ordered a mojito somewhere and they used a mint SYRUP

I was like wtf is this man? at least let me know that you won't be using real mint before starting to make it

Tomorrow is my bachelor party! Wedding is only 3 weeks away. I'll be drinking plenty of beer with multiple shots mixed in I'm sure. Rock and effing roll.

Well, we ended up having a great time. Had a big steak dinner, then headed up to Fells Point. I haven't been there in about 7 or 8 years. Interesting mix of people- young, old, couples, singles, bikers, folks of all kinds of ethnic backgrounds.

We went to Green Turtle and some other hole in the wall bar for a few drinks, then we went to Ritz Cabaret. Now as I said before, I'm not a strip club guy. Last night was the first time in about 5 years that I've been to one. Well, it was a total blast. We got there around 10:45 and stayed until last call at 1:45. The women were for the most part really attractive, and I was surprised with how clean the place was. We paid extra for VIP, so we went upstairs where it was much less crowded, and we were able to get a table. I was surprised at how reasonable the drink prices were. There were a few other guys in club that were doing bachelor parties also. They got sent up on stage and pretty much humiliated by a few of the dancers. Ripped shirts, ripped underwear, etc etc. Needless to say I didn't go that route. Anyway, we all tied one on pretty good, then went for late night pizza and reminisced about back in the day. Up till 5am. A great time with my closest friends. Good stuff.
