dmvskinzfan08 10-10-2009, 06:40 PM I think there are some things that can be done differently but MOST of it IS execution IMO.
Question. When Smith came over from Tenn. Did they run the WCO? What made him qualified to be an OC? I mean seriously. Maybe this guy is the problem. He seems stubborn. Blache at least made some adjustments. Now the defense is playing better. If everyone executed -- all the teams would be Superbowl contenders. That's not the point. You put your players in a position to be successful. Not be so prideful you expect everything you draw up will work. He has mainly worked as a running back coach his whole career. How does our running game look. I am beginning to not like this guy. We need to execute. But like running sweeps to the left. That's not us. We ran up the middle on the goal line. Smith might be a liability to Zorn. Zorn seems a little more grounded and he is still a young coach. But Smith seems like he has his head up his ass IMO.
dmvskinzfan08 10-10-2009, 06:45 PM Yeah he missed that block, didn't hit the hole fast enough, and didn't throw the winning touchdown. Or did he? LOL!!!
Didn't you know JC picked all of our draft picks -- Even Durant Brooks? lol

Was there any coach on our team this season or last season that had success in the WCO period besides the old Seahawks QB coach that helped the QB's? That says a lot about this organization right there.
warpaint 10-10-2009, 07:30 PM READING THIS WHOLE THREAD HAS REALLY DEPRESSED ME.
The cure for me and all of us will be the win 2morrow!HTTR

I understand what you're saying but Smith isn't the one dropping TD passes and getting penalties. I'm not crazy about the running game either and adjustments need to be made but if the players don't execute the plays it doesn't matter what you call. Missed blocks, false starts etc. are a direct product of poor execution. The observation that Lewis made after watching film was that there were too many mistakes being made by the players that continuously bog down the offense.
SmootSmack 10-11-2009, 12:17 AM I'm not Snyder bashing in my statement...you're sensitive.
What proof did we have of the Haynesworth signing?...Our front office said that it was not going to pursue Haynesworth in free agency and then Snyder is dining with his agent the days before free agency started.
Next thing you know we're introducing Albert within hours of the start of free agency.
Our front office has proven their story is unreliable when it comes to player/staff personnel moves. If there was no reason to believe them then there isn't any reason to believe them now.
We said we weren't signing Haynesworth?
The Goat 10-11-2009, 12:22 AM I can't do this anymore . . .
Snyder and Co. have ruined the Redskins for me, and perhaps even football, because for so long the two have been synonymous in my mind.
I have seen way too many dumb FO moves and regime changes, and i don't watch foot ball for the drama of team management. If I did I would be thoroughly entertained, but I want to watch a TEAM develop and strive, and MAKE PROGRESS.
It is becoming clear to me, I need a new team. Does that make me a fair weather fan? No F'n way. I have never seen fair weather for this team. Not once in my 15+ years of fandome.
So if you were a fan during Gibbs I both envy and pity you. If it suits you, keep living in the past. As for me, if this team gets turned on its head again this season, if Zorn IS being undermined, if this IS another cryptic transition to another regime then I have had enough, I WILL turn my back on this franchise. I encourage everyone else to do the same . . . This is not the Redskins you remember. It is an undead franchise, a redskins zombie infected with the Snyder virus. IMO, there's only one cure. Shoot it in the head.
I mean that's all a little drastic bro. Sure the management of the Redskins makes me want to puke, but you don't have to completely give up and switch horses. As a personal example lol I follow the Saints now as well as the Skins...the Saints are really fun to watch (which is a needed change from watching the Skins every week) and I really, really like their coaches and players w/ the exception of Shockey. Sooooo yeah go ahead and find a 2nd fav cuz it's probably a long time before we see our #1 team do anything special.

When and where did he say this? Do you have a link?
skins89moss 10-11-2009, 05:25 AM if you are suprised by this move, then obviously you dont know Dan Snyder. This is a move to undermine his coach and the coaches staff. What confidence now does the team have in what Zorn is saying?? its absolutely a joke. You dont go and get "another set of eyes" after 4 games, when we are 2-2. I know our offense hasn't been great, but if two passes the week against the rams we caught (sellers and Thomas) we aren't having the discussions. If Zorn (who has been in football all most as long as snyder has had hair on his body) wanted it fine, but we all know he didn't. What the hell does Dan know about football?! NOTHING! This goes back to Norv when he won the division, and lost in the 2nd round of the playoffs. Then Danny boy goes out and gets a bunch of overhyped premadonnas that have no respect for anyone but the check and the season goes to crap, ruining the chemisty Norv had built. He gets fired at 7-6 or whatever the record was at the time (when we are in the middle of fighting for the wild card) and Danny never takes blame for any of that. Then we go to Marty..who finished 8-3 over the last 11 games. Has our roster looking good, draft in place and because he wouldn't give back the power Danny gave him...BOOM...he is gone. Which brings us to spurier, he never had a shot to begin with, all though during the first season I thought he was going to be pretty good. Then we have Gibbs who brought us back to some sort of respectability and what happens when he goes...BOOM.. Danny blows it all up by showing GW the door when everyone in that organization, except tweedle dee and tweedle dumb, wanted him as the coach. The two jackasses we have running our team will never learn and we will never have a team that is decent as long as Danny thinks he knows two shits about football. If I was Zorn, I would have told him to shove it up his ass. You can tell by some of the quotes that no one wants Lewis here nor do they think we need him. I personally want Zorn to work out BIG TIME, I am tired of a new coach every two years, new coordinators every two years, new roster every two years. No good organization is ever built this way.
Very well said 56fanatic, and I feel your frustration as a DIE HARD REDSKINS FAN:food-smil
53Fan 10-11-2009, 01:22 PM When and where did he say this? Do you have a link?
No I don't have a link. I think it was on Redskins Nation with Larry Michael that I saw it. Sherm said he spent the first night watching film with Zorn. What he saw was, different players making mistakes. It wasn't any one player but different players at different times. One play it would be a lineman missing a block, the next play a receiver doing something wrong and the next play a RB messing up. He said this bogs down the offense.
