I say we hire Bobby Beathard as a consultant to the GM. I think we need another set of eyes to help with player management....fair is fair. Are there mirrors in the FO for them to look at themselves? Double Standard!

What proof do you have of this? Oh I forgot we don't need proof to bash Snyder, every move that we don't like gets ascribed to him regardless of what the facts say.

I'm not Snyder bashing in my statement...you're sensitive.

What proof did we have of the Haynesworth signing?...Our front office said that it was not going to pursue Haynesworth in free agency and then Snyder is dining with his agent the days before free agency started.

Next thing you know we're introducing Albert within hours of the start of free agency.

Our front office has proven their story is unreliable when it comes to player/staff personnel moves. If there was no reason to believe them then there isn't any reason to believe them now.

Ok, so we'll count you in as an "It's all the players fault for not exicuting" person.

and a Danny is a "Scumbag" person.

Zorn won't say shove it cause if he does DS doesn't have to pay him but if DS fires him he still has to pay him. I don't think Zorn is that stupid about his money. It's ruining his rep if he had one but I'm not even sure he had one. He was a QB coach. Only 2 times has it worked out in the past.....Andy Reid, and Gruden.

I am not one of the "its all the players fault for not exicuting" person. I never even said that. My point was if two catches were made, the offensive questions wouldn't be near as bad as they are. I blame Zorn for some calls he makes, players for the lack of execution, its across the board. My reason for the post was to vent about how Snyder is putting his nose into crap that he shouldn't. again, what confidence now does the team have in Zorn, if the owner has basically put the writing on the wall that he is out. How does that create a winning attitude? I was being sarcastic regarding the "shove it" comment. Of course he'd be a jackass to quit, I just wish Dan would stay out of this stuff. He hired the guy (nothing more that a QB coach) so let the guy coach and let the guy try and right the ship. which at the beginning of the season I'd say 99% of us had the team at 3-1, were 2-2 right now, its not the time to undermine the damn head coach. Dan Snyder is a control freak, its ridiculous guys. I am sure he wants to win as bad as any of us, but honestly he has as much knowledge in running a football team as you or I. Just because he is a billionare doesn't make him a "football" expert.

So...Sherman Lewis is 67. Are your saying Bobby is too old? Bobby still surfs in San Diego.
I was kind of kidding about bringing in Bobby to be consultant to Cerratto. I was just trying to raise the point of the double standard that exists with the Redskins and how the FO is not held accountable because the owner is one of the two heads in this two headed monster. If DS admitted the the FO is not pulling its weight that would mean he is not doing a good job and we all know that would never happen. Cerratto has been with the organization a long time and he seems untouchable.

so... i guess i'm in the minority who thinks this is a bad, bad idea. hiring a consultant is fine but this is NOT the way to do it. it's pretty clear by now zorn did not want this. just listen to all the effin paranoia on this thread. i know we're fans, but don't you think a thought or two like this might go through the staff/locker room. i totally agree with wilbon and especially jenkins (can't beleive i'm writing that last one) on this: this is compulsively bad management. if you've ever experienced it, this has the signs. personally i'm for "fire snyder" signs at games. seriously.

Here's a pretty good article on the subject:

Twas a good article. The thing that caught my eye most: he was WR coach for the niners when they won 3 SB!!!

...at this point this could turn out to be a genius move but it could also be a real disruption. Best case scenario Lewis is really in DC to replace Hixon for the year and get the young members of the WR corp playing like legit NFL receivers. Not sure why the FO didn't just can Hixon and install Lewis directly but this franchise does EVERYTHING screwy (who the hell assembles all the assistants before trying to bring in an HC?). Worst case scenario Lewis doesn't have a specific task and ends up butting heads w/ Zorn, creating distraction and tension.

...guess we'll all find out together :)

Anybody read Mike Wise's column yesterday? A good read. This speculation I found very interesting:

A conspiracy theorist might connect the dots and the timeline, which appeared fuzzy on Wednesday, like this: Lewis spends time with an old friend, Greg Blache, the Redskins' defensive coordinator whom he worked with for two years in Green Bay, before the Detroit-Washington game at the team hotel. Blache is a motivator of great renown, thought of highly by Snyder. If things go abysmally south the next three weeks, Blache is asked to take bullets as the interim head coach until season's end. At the least, Blache has got a guy he knows with a little play-calling experience to have his back in the event Zorn and Smith can't put Humpty Dumpty back together again by the bye week.

By then, Lewis has almost a month under his belt of learning personnel, plays and players.
Insular Ashburn says that's cynical thinking, jaded even. They say Lewis has worked with Brett Favre, Steve Young, Joe Montana, Bill Walsh and Mike Holmgren -- so why not Campbell and Zorn? Since Zorn is basically a young Jedi learning the ways of the Force, to the point of his light saber needing new D batteries in the red zone, why not bring in Yoda for reinforcement?

Whom do I believe? Charley Casserly, the former general manager of the team, is normally a close-to-the-vest man in his new life as a football analyst on television. In his first thoughts after the hire, he called the addition of Lewis the "kiss of death" for Zorn.
