Can we get a little luck?

Is it just me or does it seem like everything in the world seems to go wrong for the Redskins and the most inopportune times...Is it just bad coaching and lack of preparation or, like me, does anyone get the vibe that this team just can't catch a break?

I mean Johnson throwing a perfect TD pass on his first pass play in the NFL? Hunter Smith going down with an injury on the first punt? It just seems like week in and week out its just one mistake/bad luck after another. Further, every week we question Jim Zorn's decision making but when the guy explains his decisions, they actually make a lot of sense and seem like the right decision within the context of what happened. His play calling could be greatly improved but it seems that the poor guy is just trying to stay level headed and do the best he can but just everything seems to go wrong...

Any thoughts?

I feel bad for Zorn too man, every coach had their own struggles when they first came in...people want to rush to get a "proven" coach...but fail to understand that they were once a rookie head coach as well. The problems lie with vinny cerrato...zorn is doing an ok job to be honest..but I would like to see us replace Blache with more of a hard nosed D Coordinator.

Can we get a little luck. How about telling that to a Raiders fan right about now. I live in Southern California and I see what Raiders fans are going through which closely resembles our success the last few years. Today game Carlos Rogers had a chance to intercept the ball that hit him right in the chest and run it back for a TD. Against the Lions S. Moss gets face mask and the refs over turn the call on the field. Also today we score and get the extra point blocked, what do we have to do to get a break? I hope today maybe the start of the Redskins getting the breaks in the game.

I'm not big on "luck", but the ball has been bouncing in the wrong direction for some time. I think what we are going through is not a string of bad luck, but the benefits of what our FO has done to the team in the past couple of years. Somehow, someway, Vinny and Danny are behind all of this.

The fumble forced by Jarmon 9 times out of 10 always seems to bounce right back into our opponents hands. That was the first fumble in I don't know how many games where a fumble fell into our hands at a critical time to end the game.

It does seem sometimes that if it wasn't for bad luck we'd have none at all.

We got all the luck we need this year - the schedule!
Can you imagine what things would be like if we'd opened w/more div. games?

Please, you make your own luck by preparing and game planning properly. Starts in the FO, then coaches, then the players...one thing about the Gibbs eras here, the players seemed to show up ready to play with a clear vision of what needed to be done to win. Look at the piss poor job Zorn has done this season, we come out very slow, getting behind early...If we came out more ready to play we would get those bounces. At the start of the games I look at the players and coach and I see a "oh sh*t, here we go..somebody make a play cause I cant"...U can already see a defeated look

Injuries happen. It happened to our O-line last yr. Good teams can fight through this. At the risk of sounding like I'm making excuses for Zorn, it's easy for all of us to look at a play after it's failure and question why it was called. I know he's trying to change things up so teams won't know what he's going to do at any given time. Also there are two sides to every story. He calls a play and it's successful ...he's a genius. He call a play and it's a bomb he's an idiot. In both cases he most likely would have an reason as to why he called the play and especially if it doesn't work cause he's going to have to answer for it later.

Maybe we need more time in this offense but it kills me to see teams running their plays all preseason getting ready for the regular season. They basically say these are our plays, we know they are good plays, try to figure out a way to stop it or we'll beat you. They don't care if other teams know the plays. It always seems like the Skins are afraid to divulge anything. Like "oh my god if the other teams see our plays we won't be able to run them" so they go vinella during preseason and the team has trouble getting the plays down during the season.

Wins a win. Good job Skins. I thought they would lose so I'll eat my crow, but I just don't like the ugly wins. This brand of football will not lead us to any chanpionships.

My gripes with luck are well-documented and again it reared it's ugly head.
